Hey all. As a long time Mac user both at home and at the office, I splurged today for a new MacBook.

Although I'm extremely familiar with Macs in general, I'm completely new to notebooks and my intention to take one mobile into the Jeep on adventures. I'd be grateful for any initial tips and advice, in particular relating to Mac products if possible. Thanks.

Nothing too useful for adventuring with a Mac...but as a Macbook user myself...ENJOY, you'll love this thing!

Remember, if you close the lid with everything running...it'll still be there when you open it again...the sleep function is one of my favorites!

congrats on your mac , I've yet to find alot of GPS info for the Mac but I'm sure it's out there or will be soon. One piece of advice i can give you it to get some kind of protection for the case and key board . I use these two products and they work great.

After years of building PC's I had enough and went MAC last July with 17" MacBook Pro. Never going back. Ever. I use BootCamp and have Windows loaded on the Mac book so I can run a single dumb app for work. But once Leopard comes out, I'll reformat and go with Parallels!

BTW: I went to the GPS Store here in Alaska and they are expecting the MAC version of Garmins Topo software by Summer. They feel certian that Garmin will do it this time... riiiggghhhttt
