Just wondering if anybody has used gas struts for the lifting divices on a poptop camper would it work.Den

There quite a few posts on here about that topic. If you search they should pop up:) FWC offers them as an option I believe. Others have retrofitted them.

Here's photos of the rear and front of my camper..I used 40lb struts on both the front and rear. Made all the difference in the world. I can sit on the couch and raise the roof with one hand. Should have done it years ago.

What are the advantages/disadvantages of installing the struts vertically with the vertical lift as opposed to at an angle with a partly sideways lift?
