Beautiful! that's one clean LJ. Great platform.

What are your plans for it?

I would just put a skid plate under the oil pan and call it good.

tummy tak
old man emu 2 inch

Call Rokmen they make the best products.

I wish I got a cut of the business I send their way but sadly I dont. I remember when I my jeep was a low rider.

Nice rig. I'll second DDOG with the Rokmen recommendation for their belly skid. The stock "shovel" is an abominable thing. I installed their skid along with a JKS 1" "bombproof" motor mount lift, and have no driveline vibrations at all on my otherwise stock '05 LJ Rubicon. I also added an Nth degree oil pan skid, as I dented the stock oil pan my first trip off road. I have a trailer hitch (factory) on my rig as well, and that serves as additional (although unintentional) protection for the gas tank.

Enjoy it.

Sounds like a good plan.

Afterwards budget some selectable lockers and quit playing with it :) Should take you anywhere you need to go after that (well, save the crazy trails)

I missed the post about the forthcoming mods.

I have OME springs, shock and steering stabilizer as well as 3/4" spacers from TeraFlex I think. The 3/4" spacers restored height lost to bumpers, winch and "roof" rack. And they stopped some annoying squeeking too. The OME springs and shocks provide ride at least as good as stock, but its been four years so I don't recall how much better.

I have SkidRow oil pan, steering and other skids, and they fix the OEM scoop skid problem. Don't forget the steering box skid, it is cheap insurance for a box that hangs low.

My LJ also has a 1" body lift and motor mount lift, from JKS too, as well as quick disconnect sway bar links.

Mine is a Rubicon so the lockers came with it and work well, no issues, ever.

With the 4.10's and 255/85R - 16 BFG M/T KO's (no longer offered, but now KM2's are offered in that size) which are 33" x 10.5" performance is great off road or around town or on back roads, but a bit weak on the highway - and that is primarily due to the roof rack and its accessories and the greatly added drag.

If you go roof rack, think 4.56's or 4.88's. Without a rack, I think 3.73's or 4.10's would be great.

Thanks for the info, drag is a concern I have , and the looks of the jeep is also important, I need to keep it low profile as possible., dont want to atract any unecesary attention, thats why I sold my JK "military look" which was an awsome truck
but very "Mexico un-friendly" these days

the mods that i have inmind other than the emu lift
is painted hard top white, surco hard top rail mounted, rock panels,

and later i know I will have a snorkel ..

it wil atract attention but this kind of jeep is not very popular among drug cartels.,,contrary with the jk

Well.. followed some of the advice and just installed some 33x10.5 km2's.

I was surprised how well they fit with the stock suspension. looks good.

now im going to take the advice on the rokmen tumy tack,

I been thinking maybe I just dont need a lift kit. since the tummy tack will
gain 2 inches , plus the increase tire size, and the tummy kit comes with a
1.25 BL AND MML.... acording to what i have read, I do not need a
cv shaft or sye to install a tummy tack on the LJ? some one can comment on this?

thanks

will have pics tomorrow.

Looks good Luis. As I mentioned in my previous post, I have the Rokmen, TT, the JKS 1" body lift and MML, and I have no drive line vibrations. I also have been running 255/85s for the last 44k miles and they fit perfectly with the above combination. I will be adding a minimal (~2") lift and some stiffer springs once I start adding gear.

I'd do at least a BB and proper bump stops to keep those 33's out of your fenders. Otherwise looks great I miss my 06 LJ.

Thats the only concern I have ,when adding the 2 " lift to the rpkmen and bl,mml, would vibes appear?..

Looks great! Do you have any rubbing on the front control arms or frame with the 33" KM2s? I have 31" x 10.5" KM2s on my '05 LJ (love 'em), but am considering going with 33" KM2s next time around. I have a 2" budget boost on mine, though.

i dont have any rubbing at all,

and the ride is unexpectedly better than I thouht. I guess is the minimal
weight of the 33 inch tire.

I wish I manned up earlier and bought DDOGG's LJ.. but it looks like I'll be getting more a "rock crawler like" LJ.. anyway.. if I had the funds and were starting from scratch.. I'd take inspiration from one of these.

Awesome truck mate. I love my 33/10.50's and I LOVE LJ's too. I think the 33's make the ride better because they roll over things easier and don't "drop" into the divits/imperfections in the road as easily as smaller tires do. Really the bigger, the tire the smoother the overal ride is... Unless your running LTB's or boggers ;) HAHAHAHA It looks great with the BB and snorkle as well eh. Great truck for sure.

Cheers

Have you flexed out the suspension travel to check for rubbing, or have you just street-driven it at this point? I am looking at a similar (or identical) set-up, and have had several people tell me that 33" tires will rub at flex. Can you confirm?

I love the profile, BTW!

Craig

LUISJG

the front tires rub at the swaybar at full turn,
I have no try it at full flex , , but i dont think they will .., you might want to add a
1.25 bl,, and i say 1.25 intead of 1 because later if you want you can add a rokmen tummy tak that requiers a 1.25 bl.

If water was coming in the snorkle, you better be wearing one too!
