I volunteer with our county sheriff's SAR team. Got a call-out this morning on a probable drowning. A young woman and her two children, 3 and 7, went missing last week. Today, a farmer spotted a vehicle antenna sticking up out of an irrigation canal under a vehicle overpass by his farm and called it in.

We put two divers in the water and sure enough, it was them. Horrible fate and a sad day for the LE and SAR folks on scene not to mention their family.

I like it better when we do the searching and rescuing vs. recovery.

Just saw it on the news. A tough call for sure. Makes the good endings seem that much better.

I am sure as bad as that was (glad I don't have to do that work) it was good for the family to get closure after a week of searching and wondering...

Thanks for your and your co-workers service!

Just had a canal drowning here too. At least one or two per year in these parts. Not fun at all.

The kids are rough ones. I really hate those. Its been busy here in central ohio. We have had 2 call outs this week, both look like suicides.

Hang in there
