Well I sold my '97 LX450 and picked up an '01 ExCab v6, 5spd, TRD Tacoma, in Expedition White of course.
When I put the 285's on my LX, I installed Slee's speedo correction gear. So what is everyone doing to correct their speedometers when installing 255's and keeping the 4.10's? I haven't added the tires or lift yet, will be a little while.
Here are the pictures.

I know the superlift truspeed works well, but is alittle pricey. I have heard of some weird reports on the one from Dakota, so I would avoid that one if it was me. I don't remember how much mine was off before I did gears, but now it's off about 6-7 MPH.

I kind of figured on the Superlift Truespeed, but I wasn't sure if someone had found a speedometer gear that put it in the ball park. You know, something from a different model taco with a different engine/tranny/axle ratio, that would work.

From whar I remember on TTORRA, there is only one fsater tooth gear, but it didn't make a big enough difference. Something like a 2% change only.

Try here, from TTORA:

IIRC, the dakota digital site says not to use with ABS...
