So this is the first time I've really even "worked" my trooper. My family and I went to Sedona for Easter yesterday. So my brother-in-law and I took our SUVs out for a drive. I was so freakin' elated with how it operated and handled. My trooper went places his 2001 Grand Cherokee couldn't.(with ease) I have nothing against jeeps at all. But damn!!!! I love my trooper even more now.
Here's a few pics from the trip. I wanted to get soem pictures from coming down the staircase, but my wife wouldn't jump out and climb down in front of the trooper on that slope.

Nice Pics...>I love that trail. It's not the most difficult drive in the world, but it's got to be one of the most beautiful ones out there. My avatar picture is actually from that trail.

B/A is one of my favorites! I have done a few times now, and it just doesn't get old. The first time I ran it in the Trooper I was totally stock and it had no problems. Troopers have to be one of the most underrated trucks out there.

Thanks guys for all your replies!!!! I want to go hit the trail again this weekend,(without the wife and kid), so I can spend more time really trying to see what the trooper can do. Anyone want to go with me?
I had to take off my ball hitch for towing cuz it kept scraping on everything. Also, what do you guy think about me cutting off the mud flaps? I know they are part of the molding, so, it might look a little funny, but, I wouldn't have to worry about them getting broken.
The 265/75/R16 I have on there right now fit up in that wheel well great when articulating, I wonder how much I would lose/gain when I move up to 285/75/R16s. The 285s are 1.10" taller than the 265s. So I don't know. Any thoughts on the 285s?

Troopers are the ultimate sleepers. They were designed like a Land Cruiser, for rough trail use. Do you have the G80 LSD?

I removed my front flares and left the rear ones on. The are pretty scaped, but haven't failed.

I ran with the 285's for about a year. The truck will struggle on the highway with them, but no issues on the trail, they work great.
I think Bill is going to get some 255/85's on his Trooper. Might be worth waiting for his impression on how they work.

My trooper came with TOD, so I do have the G80 LSD. Which made most of the rock climbing pretty easy. Most of the pictures where I'm articulated, my brother-in-law with the jeep tried to climb that little ledge. His right front and rear driver tires were spinning when he was trying to climb it, he must have an open diff huh? It was awesome at mushroom rock where one can drive around in circles. My tires were chirping due to being in 4low. It was freakin' awesome!!! Any recommendations on any other trails in the Sedona area? I've heard Broken Arrow is rated about a 2 1/2 out of 5.

I officially have a set of 255/85 Dunlop RVXTs on my to buy list as soon as I can come up with the cash. I think 285s are too big unless you are in conditions where you need to float. My current 285s measure out to just under 32.5 and I think that is pretty much it for height as I do get some rubbing at full compression, but I don't know if that is height or width or both. I would rather have a smaller tire for highway power, but I'm getting used to driving slow. 4.88 gears would be a big improvement and I will do that if I ever get lockers.
And I'm minus at least one mud flap, possibly both on the passenger side.

SCOTT!!!!! I forgot to tell you that I met one of your buddies up here at Planet Jeep last Saturday. His name is Mark and he owns the Kalaber. Yeah... my bro-in-law and I were checking out the new Grand Cherokee SRT8, when Mark rolled up driving the Kalabar and towing his Rubicon and cherokee on the trailer. Holy crap!!! Our jaws dropped when we saw these things. I couldn't help but take a few pictures. In the Kalaber(the huge Jeep looking thing) he has a 5.9L Cummins in it!!!
For those of you who haven't seen what I'm talking about, here's a few pics.

So who wants to go hit some trails this weekend?!?!
Yesterday I had a MagnaFlow muffler installed. With all the vehicles I've had I've never noticed a power increase as a result of a performance muffler. Until now!!! Damn... I notice a substantial power increase with this new muffler. Along with my K&N filter, it has a lot more get-up-and-go.
