05+ Tacoma and ARB bumper

Hi,

several posts about bumpers lately. Got me thinking. I am in the market for an aftermarket, winch mount bumper and the ARB seems to be a popular choice. With the 05+ Tacoma, it looks like you ditch the fog lights. Can the wiring and switch for them be used with aftermarket lights that would be attached to the bumper, i.e., can they take the load? Thanks.

They can use the factory harness to drive a pair of lamps *if* you use 55 watt bulbs. If you want to use higher-wattage bulbs you should use the factory foglamp harness to trigger a relay which will deliver power to your aftermarket lamps. This is what I did for my IPF 968s with 100 watt bulbs mounted on my ARB bumper.
