Did OME change their shock lately. I just got a call from AEV saying that the OME shocks would not fit the Nth Shock Shifters. So they are not installing them. What has changed?
Has anyone installed new OME Shocks on an Nth SS? Any pics?

I'm not sure, but I'd bet OME did the same thing Rancho did with their RSX's....the bushings are these stupid-soft things that are molded around the bar-pin...you can't press the bar-pin out and re-use the bushing. I simply replaced the bushing with some off the shelf bushings when I installed the shock shifters....kind of a pain, but if I can do it in my garage with a vice and a hammer...I'm sure AEV could figure it out......

Just speculating, but could it possibly be a clearance issue with the metal shroud on the OME canister? Most other aftermarket light truck shocks that I know of have an exposed post or a soft boot.

No, I have just found out it is the pin is flanged and built in the eye bushing.
There should not be a clearence issue since people had been using the Nth SS and OME before.
Where did you get the generic bushings?

I don't recall where I got the bushings, but any autoparts store or 4wd shop will have them.

There are tons of others.
It seems you are not the first to have this problem with bar pin eliminators (which also applies to the Nth degree shock shifters).

goodtimes,
Did you buy a bushing that had an I.D. of 5/8" or 1/2"?

To be honest, I don't recall. I *think* they were 5/8"...I seem to recall installing a steel sleeve inside the bushing and using a 1/2" bolt for the pin....

Did you already have the sleeve, or were you able to buy one of them also?
I am tempted to call OME and see if they sell replacement bushing and sleeves.
