Just added one. yay!
Stock angled type. It's bit less robust when open, than I would like, but its solid as a rock when closed.
It's gonna get a good shake down in the next few weeks and if we like it, it'll start carrying more than just the tire.
I'd like for it to carry these things
-telescopic work/back-up light
-luggable loo in custom mount
-foldable aluminum table
-axe/shovel
cool beans
The sparta thing got me goin', Dave. Thanks...lol.
Pretty good starting point, considering it didn't cost me much of anything. :)

Got bored over the break. :)
If I get a new rig, it's not going to happen before the first of the year, and Melissa's van is going to be the one that goes, not the jeep. We're just not going to be using the Jeep as a family camping rig. Just too small. Sorry if my PM was confusingly written (is that even a word - confusingly?)

I'd love to be able and go the inexpensive route, but I doubt that stock carrier was meant to handle the weight of a 33x12.50R15 on a 10" wide steel rim! lol
The Adam Blaster <-- spent too much money on other Jeep parts in 2010 to be able to afford proper rear bumper. :xxrotflma

Like I said, this sucker has zero (and I mean zero) deflection even when I leaned my whole self on it.
Closed, I'd say it's perfectly capable of carrying a heavier tire. Open is a different story, but when its open the rig is going to be stopped, so maybe it doesn't matter that much.
That's part of what I want to test for the next few weeks. (See if it shows any signs of lameness.)
