look at this older camper...pretty interesting...even my gf finds it "cute"...

I wonder how difficult/feasible it would be to move the camper portion to a new 4x4 Tacoma.

That's cool beyond all reason. Rather than moving the top to a different chassis, I think I would just look into re-powering the vehicle as it is. I would hate to anger those cab/camper seals. I wonder if you could swap in an '83 4x4 drive train? That would be cool.

My gut feeling is "not very easy". There is one in my neighborhood, but I never realized that was a factory job -- seemed too ungainly for Toyota.

At first I thought it'd be difficult because of the fact that the Taco is much wider but the more I look at it the more I think you could profile the front, transition part of the camper to fit. I *really* like this shape for a mini motorhome. I think this camper would be really nice with a live front axle.

Somebody with mad photoshop skills should meld it onto the back of Expeditionwest's Taco
