Thanks!
Just an (expensive) hobby - a bit like long distance touring. :victory:
I got tired of having crap photos from great trips so invested in some good gear and a steep learning curve..

Show me your country......
Sorry. I didn't take any of these pics but this is the area where we live. Just at the righthand edge of this pic. Photos start with this one in the South and then we head North.
http://www.noosaevergladesdiscovery.com.au/images/phocagallery/thumbs/phoca_thumb_l_17.jpg
one of my my favorite waves>> Ti Tree Bay>> 5 minutes by scooter, then 10 minutes walk around the cliffs and through the bush. Its on that headland at the left hand side of the pic above.
http://www.globalsurfers.com/uploads/noosa2.jpg
Then head north from the river mouth in the top pic. About 50 miles up this beach to the lighthouse. The longer lake on the left was where the roo photo was taken.
http://www.noosaevergladesdiscovery.com.au/images/stories/headerimages/default.jpg
Perfect lake for small boat sailing. At the far end of the lake is a very special everglade system that goes on for miles.
http://www.noosaevergladesdiscovery.com.au/images/phocagallery/thumbs/phoca_thumb_l_8.jpg
Here's the lighthouse where we get away to.
http://www.noosaevergladesdiscovery.com.au/images/phocagallery/thumbs/phoca_thumb_l_20.jpg
This is another top spot just on the lee side of the lighthouse although the waves are hardly breaking on this day.
http://www.noosaevergladesdiscovery.com.au/images/phocagallery/thumbs/phoca_thumb_l_6.jpg
And then at the far end of this beach , about another 30 minutes drive at low tide is Fraser Island and thats a whole other story.

Hope you like them. Regards John.

The wide brown land has a lot to offer. There's something for everyone. Me, I love the remote and not-so pedestrian. Nothing quite beats the solitude of a western desert nor the brilliance of a desert sunset. The link is to a series of blogs I've written over the past few years. Still getting this years trips up. All contain photos and some video of the areas. They can be searched by name or key word or location name like "Gibson Desert". Some will also give an indication as to some of the hardships of remote desert travel (it's worth it though).

Thanks for the quick reply and I believe the images will tell me the story of your build but I can't seem to open the pictures. When I click on the image icon it takes me to a new page to log into and when I try to log on it rejects me. Do I have to re register to another page or portion of the site to see pictures?
Thanks, I'll keep trying to sort this out.

Witchdoctor Oz, I figured out what I was doing wrong and spent some time checking out your build, very impressive effort. I wonder why North American outback travelers haven't embraced this attitude to utility? When I was in Tasmania a few years go I was amazed at the innovations that rolled into Queenstown traveling from Australia's main island. Perhaps it is the sheer distances and remoteness in Australia that requires such independence and self sufficiency?
Thanks
Bill
