At the log home I'm currently restoring, the home owner has an old dumping military trailer sitting in his back field. After mentioning that I thought that it was pretty cool, he said he had been thinking of getting rid of it for some time, but couldn't make up his mind. Anyways, can any of you tell me about this trailer. There is no suspension on it and what appears to be a GPW rear axle, though it looks to me like the axle was a hack install but what do I know. If you can give me some info and what a fair price would be I'd appreciate it. The owner is a great guy and I wouldn't want to short change him if he decided to sell. Included are some pictures of the trailer and the Army Corps tag on the trailer.

These might help.

"Here is another photograph of a WWII Jeep Converto Airborne Dump Trailer and Vietnam era 1/2 Flatbed generator Jeep Trailer. Converto produced around 6,500 1/2 ton trailers during World War Two. These Airborne Dump Trailers had similar dimensions to the Bantam T3 1/4 ton jeep trailer, and used Kelsey-Hayes MB/GPW jeep combat wheels that had been reinforced with metal plates to make them stonger and able to carry a heavier load than the standard World War Two Jeep Trailer"

Pretty obvious that the axle was added. Notice the yoke for a driveshaft and 3rd member?
I wouldn't think it was worth much.
