...I caught this weekend. Biggest smallmouth I've ever pulled out of a stream in AZ.

That's a monster for sure. I fished for a year in the Susquehanna River which is know for SMB and never caught one like that, nice work.:)

Nice! I wish there was a place like that near San Diego.

I thought the rule of fishing was to never shoot a photo of your catch, so it can be bigger when you re-tell the story. :)

Nice fish, Seth! Is that the Black?

Yup. Probably my favorite place in AZ. I have fished it from Black River Crossing all the way up to Wildcat Point, and many of it's tributaries too.

Best place in AZ, no question in my mind.

I hope it stays quiet for years to come...its nice going to a place and not seeing trash, or anybody else for days.

Nice smallies guys. Cheesman Reservoir re-opened about a week ago after being shut down for about 5 years due to the Hayman Fire. I checked it out the other day for about an hour and got into this one:

Hadn't fished for smallies since I lived in Missouri. Great fight.

heh, good time to bring this thread back. I actually just got back an hour ago from the same place I caught that fish (well, about 10 miles downstream). Tore it up... probably pulled out 40 fish between my buddy and I. Unfortuneately, nothing to write home about. Definitely nothing over a pound. Why can't people just catch and release? I used to be able to pull out fifteen 1lb+ out of that river and not see another person the entire weekend. Now there are humans, barking dogs, and trash everywhere. And a 1lb+... forget about it. Maybe I can talk the reservation game and fish into setting a slot limit. :p

May I kindly recommend a slot limit of 135-145 pound fishermen only.

The fish will get bigger fast.

And I can still fish.

(I know that women fish too, but no way am I gonna put a number on that one.)

Nice fish. I'm fortunate to have several world class smally rivers close by and I've never caught on that big. :clapsmile
