Good day all. Since I've spent many months lurking behind the scenes, stealing great ideas for our trucks, reading great articles, and looking at even better pictures, it's probably time to say hi.

I'm another Coloradoan with a Tacoma (seems like there are quite a few Coloradoans here), and I've developed quite a passion taking it places many can't go. My adventure/expedition days have taken a bit of of a break while I try to raise a couple of toddlers, but my youngest is almost 3 now, and the fog is finally breaking:clapsmile This is my 3rd Toyota, having previously owned a 92 4Runner and a 2000 4Runner

I've had my truck for about a year now, and it's slowly becoming respectable as a combination trail/travel rig (and occasional soccer dad hauler). New OME suspension, BFG KO tires, rock sliders, IPFs, Bestop, and various other additions and modifications. On my short wish list now is a new front bumper and winch, more underbelly protection, and a few other things - but I must be patient....

I spend alot of time at a few other Toyota forums, but this one seems to be full of good people doing godd things with really great rigs. I'm looking forward to meeting more of you out on the trails.

PS - And I would add that this forum as by far the BEST smilie list around!

And a couple pics....

:wings:Welcome to the Portal! It is very nice to see another new body Tacoma on the trail. Even nicer to see youre here and willing to share - now I have yet another plan to shamelessly copy for my own build up.

My ETA for Colorado is three weeks - we should plan a gathering of ExPo CO!

We need to turn on the Colorado filter on to limit the number of Colorado folks!:shakin:

Oh wait, we also have several from Arizona.....nevermind.:)

Welcome to Expo! Nice looking truck.

Now I thought us folks that shared the only 4 cornered border in the US were supposed to support each other:wavey:

My folks live down in Mesa (as do alot of peoples parents/grandparents/etc.) - so I'm an occasional Arizonian.

Good point, those four conners do tie us together. I hope to find some time to come up and enjoy some your beautiful mountain backcountry sometime in the future.:wings:

Since I last posted here, I made a few changes

- swapped out the OME 885 coils for some heavy duty 886's
- added an ARB up front

Tried to make it up Webster Pass/Red Cone this weekend, but we've still got snow issues all over the place here in Colorado. Had to turn around and descend....

Red Cone trail summits the peak in the distance, then straddles the ridge down to "safety". Couldn't get all the way up there today

The snow "wall" that blocked us:

The ARB looks good with the black wheels. Your truck is coming along nicely.

No chance in shovelling you way through that snow wall :archaeolo wa there from that picture.

LOL - yea, there was seven of us, but we needed something a bit more powerful than shovels. We'll be lucky if that trail is open by August.....but the good news is the main trail up Redcone is in better shape (we were on the Webster Pass road), and should open sooner.
