Overland Video is proud to announce our first DVD release

The first volume of the Overland Video Series is available for sale. This is a true community effort including a trip that was planned (http://expeditionportal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=451) on ExPo and attended (http://expeditionportal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=13315#post13315) by ExPo members. The video was directed and edited by Pasquale Benedetto (DesertDude) and produced by yours truly (expeditionswest). Dave (SOCALFJ) is replicating the DVD's in his family business located in California.

I am proud to be a part of it and have the chance to share our adventure with you, and hope that you can explore this awesome road too.

More details on the DVD:
El Camino Del Diablo is an infamous overland route from the Spanish Missions in Mexico to the coast of California. Since 1540, when Francisco Coronado set out to find the fabled Seven Cities of Cibola, said to possess streets lined in gold, this route has held challenges and rewards for those who travel its length.

While streets of gold do not exist along the Highway of the Devil, adventure can be found in abundance. Follow Expeditions West, and Scott Brady, as they travel over 150 miles along the Mexican border, discovering the history and intense geology of this remote desert trail. Along the way, the group of Toyotas, Nissans, Land Rovers and Jeeps overcome breakdowns, deep sand and silt, and navigation challenges en route to impressive vistas.

This DVD provides the viewer with a first-hand experience and insight into the best routes and locations along the Highway of the Devil. Bonus features include GPS coordinates, a photo journal, and detailed vehicle information.

I did want to compliment David (SOCALFJ) from CALTAPE on his exceptional service and attention to detail on this project. It was a pleasure to work with a fellow Toyota owner and explorer.

Got my video today and watched it. It was cool to see all the rigs together. We were talking about running this trail on our way back from baja since it would be on the way home. Looks like most of it is a 2wd trail from the video.

On your next video you should have an upload feature with the actaul route plotted out from the ride, that way one can put them on the PC and then into their GPS units. I saw that a few key spots had the GPS coordinates on the screen that you could write down and enter manually. However you did not put one for the end of the trail on the west side. Maybe on the next run of discs you could add that last bit of info.

All in all good video It was cool getting to see the rigs up close and having owners take you through the rigs and trailers! Looking frorward to the Artic Video.
