What say this list on kit boats?

I tried to review all the previous threads and each one was interesting enough in itself that I soon found myself with my eyes glazed over and getting even more off track. I also googled a few interesting sites but with no recommendations, I kept looking.

I have this urge to build my own boat. I have had both canoes and kayaks, row boats and power boats. In fact I have something even now for big water. I have extra garage space and basic tools. In fact I will always spring for a new tool, especially hand tools.

I am interested in a oar or paddle propeled craft that could in a pinch use an electric trolling motor in the back waters of the lakes, ponds, and rivers of Colorado. I am not stuck on anything. I just think I would like to try my hand a building something to do some serious "putzing". Since I have a wonderful wife and a Vizsla, something with a bit of room would be nice.

Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Both of these places make great kit boats. Or should I say boat kits?

I have not personally built from either but know others who have. I have seen some fine examples from both companies.

These drift boats are pretty sweet. I really dig the skiff...
