New Member and Rig Intro

Hey guys,

I have been snooping around on this forum for a few months and figured that it is about time that I introduce myself. I live in Dallas and drive a 1985 FJ60 with an Old Man Emu 2.5" suspension upgrade, BFG 33 x 9.50s, ARB bull bar, and Warn M8000 winch. The FJ is rust free; I bought it in Arizona in 2004. I also restored a Canadian M101 1/4-ton military trailer in 2006 and made it into a camping/expedition trailer with a rooftop tent mounted to a hinged lid. I wheel on occasion, but use the truck more for hunting and camping. I want to keep her in nice condition for the long haul...

I am a member of Lone Star Land Cruisers; you'll usually find me on ih8mud on a daily basis!

Welcome. Nice looking truck! Must be a really new bull bar, it's got the new style front pan with the integrated Hi-Lift or whatever slot.

Edit to add photo of old style FJ60/2 Bull Bar, the new one looks cleaner I think I like yours better.

Welcome! Great looking rig, love the 9.50's. I had a 60 that I dearly miss that I was running 33x9.50's as well. They worked great. Hope someday when I can justify and afford it to find another nice condition 60 like yours.

You guys are too nice...

It is the new style ARB bull bar. I also like the 33 x 9.50s; they are light enough (smaller footprint) to save my power steering pump but tall enough to get my "overdrive" at highway speeds. It is usually about 12-14% off what my speedometer reads. I have had several sets of KOs and they seem to be a quality tire that lasts. They are great for lots of terrain too...
