Anyone know how low you can lower your tire pressure in tires equipped with the tire pressure monitoring system before it goes nuts on you?

What exactly do you mean? Are you asking what the cutoff is before the TPMS light appears in your dash? If so, I think it's around 28 psi.

Edit: Not 100% sure if it's a fixed value, or also based on a differential based on the other tires in the system and/or the tires the last time it reset itself. There may be more to it than just the threshold?

Just want to know before I air down the tires if/when I'll get the loud noise. If I'm gonna get the loud noise, then how do I stop it?

It shouldn't make any noise. You'll just see the light on the dash and that's it. Nothing to worry about. As soon as you air back up it will go away. It does work on a differential between tires so the reason I see the light is I don't air down my spare.

Ah, I see. Yea, no noise, just the indicator light on the dash. If the light doesn't reset itself after you air back up, there's a button under the steering column that you can use to reset it manually.

Hijack-If I put aftermarket steelies on a '07 Tacoma can I install the TPM's in the new wheels?

It depends on the wheel, but I know the 16" steelies from Wheelers off road (which I believe are from Pro Comp) can accept the TPMS sensors.

Be aware that Toyota makes two different sensors for the Tacoma. They are different angles for the valve stems. I believe one is a 20 degree and the other is 40. Just FYI.
