Hi guys,
sitting in the Vancouver library and starting to post our trip report. We`re going to be in Vancouver the next days, then we are heading north to the Arrow Lake. We have about 5 weeks left...

Took the train at 1130am at my place in germany, took me about 12h to get to Copenhagen. Had to go on a ferry between Germany and Denmark. Met
chilliwak at 1213am, he picked me up at copenhagen train station.

Met this dude called Steinez at 12.13am at Copenhagen railway station. He looks like a cool guy, just a little skinny.
It looks like he could use some barbequed steak to get him into shape. We had a couple of chores to do before leaving.
So we put my rowboat under a tarp and tried to get my rear tire replaced on the old VW golf. Waited for hours at the car
shop to get the tire replaced but with no luck. Can you find a decent mechanic in Denmark? I think not. I showed Steinez
the lakes in central Copenhagen and he thought it looked nice. Later we had dinner at a Indian restaurant. Spicy food went
down good.

Met this dude called Chilliwak at 12.13am at Copenhagen railway station. He looks like a cool guy, just a little Buddha stomach...
He drives an old "Ubergolf", would`ve gone to the scrapyard a few years ago in Germany. Not much more to add...
Btw., Denmark doesn`t have good car mechanics from what i`ve seen...

We woke up early at 4.15 am. We left the apartment quickly to make our flight. We took the train and underground
to Copenhagen airport with the usual delays in the transit system. At the airport we had to get assistance to make the computer
check-in system work. We flew from Copenhagen to London, and then to Vancouver Canada. Air Canada is ok, lots of free booze.
After we landed we slept for almost a whole day.

Was a long flight, had lots of time to think about the center mounted winch. Maybe i got the idea, but i`ll
have to get a closer look at my truck when we`re back...

Woke up at 4.00 am and had a chicken breakfast. I slept on the couch, Steinez on the floor.
Man that guy is tough as nails. Went out to pick up the truck. Topped up the fluids and the old
Chevy is ready to ROCK!

Chicken breakfast at 0400am is what you need after a long flight and sleeping for a whole day.
This TAD Gear stuff (clothing) is so good, you can even build a matress to sleep on. Lots of new things
here, really like what`s out on the streets. It`s hard to even see a lifted truck in germany...
Picked up that old Chevy, that`s a freaking huge truck with a even bigger canopy on it. Love that V8 rumble... :victory:

8.00 am chicken breakfast. Time to start cleaning our cooking gear and getting ready. Driving to Vancouver
from North Vancouver we had an accident on the Lions Gate Bridge. It seems the driver of the silver Accura has not
learned how to merge. Damage to my Chevy, minimal, scratches on bumper and front fender. Damage to Accura, extensive,
dented door and rear fender, mangled bodywork, aprx. $10.000 to repair. Moral of the story, learn to drive and don`t
pick fights with my Chevy if you are driving an Accura.

We`re still waiting for Chilli`s shocks to show up. He gave the shop a call and found out that they totally
screwed up his order. They say the shocks will show up Tuesday or Wednesday. It sucks that we have to wait until they show
up, the accident didn`t help either...
But Vancouver is a nice town too, so it isn`t that bad to stay here...
Went to Stanley Park this evening...

Today was the day to get the canopy organized. Previously everything was on the floor after a little offroad activity.
Me and Steinez developed a system of removeable shelvings that allowed for storage in 3 levels. What can i say, Steinez is a
genious. We built everything in the parking lot of the local building center. It works great.

Did all this work in the parking lot, wouldn`t never have thought about working in a parking lot on my truck. Lend Chilli
a hand doing all that stuff, so we got a lot done. My bed turned out great, so i have a nice place to sleep now. We slept in the
truck that night, was fine...

In the morning we found a construction site with some soft sand. We decided to test the truck on the terrain the
site offered. After initialy getting stuck because I approached the sand to slowly, I decided to give the truck a little
extra pedal. It seems the truck performed great as long as I used the V8 as it should; pedal down.
Later we went for a hike in Golden Ears Park were we saw some beautiful scenery and a nice waterfall.

Chilli did some flex testing today. That old Chevy got some serious frame flex, even the camper banged to the cab
a few times. It looked like the camper would tear the frame apart, but nothing broke, so i think it works...
Went for a small hike this afternoon, some nice scenery there...
Btw., i just found out that i really like Taco Time...

It was time to get the bodywork fixed on the old Chevy. The drivers front fender was poorly adjusted and had come
in contact with the front edge of the door. We loosend the front fender and then placed a stack of newspapers in the gap between
the fender and the door. We then closed the door, there by pushing the front fender forward. The fender also needed to be
adjusted in height. We accomplished this by placing some washers under the fender to increase the height. Later we grinded
down the rust and applied some bondo to the dents.

Another day of work in the parking lot. Seems like this is kind of normal here, by the amount of people stopping by
and talk to us about trucks and stuff.
Found out that there`s also a package missing that i ordered. They said shipping will take 3-4 days, now it`s over 8 days. Maybe
this is how the american post works. But i got a tracking number, accounting to that it should be delivered tomorrow or wednesday...

Pastrami on rye for breakfast, and me and Steinez are ready to ROCK! Some chores done and a quick upload to the
forum done, we decided to go bondo. And i mean bondo. I think Steinez has patented the 13 layer approach to autobody. Just
what the doctor ordered for the old Chevy. We tried to fit the rear swaybar and decided to apply some surgery...
Updates on swaybar tech to come at a later date.

Had some time at the library today and started looking for a (maybe) new vehicle. Maybe there will some crazy stuff
coming up soon...
Then i improved my bodywork skills by bondoing Chilli`s 'Chevy. I think it`s about 1/2" bondo at some places. Again, work was
done at the parking lot. People just walking by like it`s everyday stuff that you`re doing bodywork in the parking lot. Some
even stop and have a talk about trucks...
At the evening we put some serious steaks on the barbeque. Really liked them, looking forward to more...
No shipping updates on my order, looks like it`s in transportation from one depot to another for 5 days now. Don`t think it`ll
arrive in time, but then i`ll just skip it. Maybe this is how USPS works...

Me and Steinez are internet buddies from this forum. Our mutual appreciation of Chevys got us planing this trip in the spring.:costumed-smiley-007 The truck we are driving is mine, and has been for years....:) Now the Chevy is ready to ROCK!:Wow1:

Another day waiting. We could not proceed with bodywork, due to the fact that the Insurance Corporation of
British Columbia wanted to inspect and photograph the damage to the Chevy. After 4pm we were able to start work. Steinez
on bondo; me on filling the rust holes. We were also able to do some custom hightech suspension modifications. We heated
the brackets from the Helweg swaybar up with a cutting torch, and then bent them to the proper angle. The stock brackets
were aprx. 45° pointed the wrong way. Nothing like some ghetto manufacturing to get things rolling.

Another hours at the library, getting some more ideas about my (maybe) next car. Had lunch at the Tomahawk restaurant,
they make some serious burgers. After the appointment with ICBC we continued working at the parking lot. No updates on my
package yet, looks like USPS screwed it completely up. Murphys law at it`s best...

Started the day by switching over to our new ride, a Suzuki SX4. It was raining outside as we proceeded to the USA to
get the shocks needed for the Chevy. Driving the Suzuki was a weird experience. If you just touched the gas, the front wheels
would start to spin. This beeing the case due to bad tires and not large horsepower. A 2h wait, and we are through the
Canada/US border. We picked up our gear and did a little sight-seeing in Blaine. Returned home later after some Burger King
Burgers.

Wasn`t a big problem to get over the border, just took us a few a few hours. But at least now i know that i`m not a
terrorist, and for only 6$ i got my 3 months visa for the US. Don`t have any use for it, but who cares. Lot`s of things just to
get some parts 10mins from the border...
Unfortunately the last of my packages didn`t arrive in time, so i don`t have any chance to pick it up. Tracking shows that the
package is stuck somewhere in North Carolina. I don`t believe this is the right way to ship something from California to
Washington. But it`s to late now, no chance for me to get it anymore. Maybe someone near Blaine/WA reads this and can help me...

Right then, time to make everything right, right? In retrospec, you have to remember that you are dealing with 70`s
technology. This taken into consideration, the old truck benefited from surgery. Bent my Hellwig brackets with some heat, and
a 5150 install, and me and Steinez are ready to ROCK! Good to see something going right, right? Steinez could single handed
(don`t ask me how) install the 5150`s. The downward force of these shocks is radical! Custom made drag links do the job like
they should. Great to have the swaybar finally attached.
After all is said and done, all i can think about is a barbeque-ya.

Installed the shocks and swaybar today. Finally got those things in, and i can tell you, those shocks have some serious
downpressure. Got some things from the hobby shop that i ordered. At least something arrives in time...
Had a great barbeque this evening...

Saturday morning and a quick update to the forum later, we are almost ready to leave Vancouver. After the grocery
shopping is finished we will be ready to roll. We drove to Britannia Beach, the first stop on our trip. We found a place to
park at the upper part of town, as high up as we could go. We quickly broke out the barbeque, and had some smokie hot-dogs.
Afterwards we went on a little hike of appx. 5km on some "no trespassing" roads. It had a steep incline so it was a good
workout.

I almost can`t believe it. We finally left Vancouver...
It`s a good feeling to leave the city and get out. A short drive to Britannia Beach and we reached our destination for the
day. The mining museum looks pretty cool, can`t wait to check it out...

We started the day with a drivers side front fender repair. The fender is still coming in contact with the front door
because of poor alignment. I did not wan`t to destroy Steinez custom 13 layer bondo job, thereby the importance of the
adjustment. Later we visited the Britannia Mining Museum. This is one of Steinez interests, so he was like a child in a candy
store. We were both interested in the unique old mining machinery and gear. Obviously the people working here had a tough life.
Afterwards it was mega steak lunch. We cruised by Whistler and stopped there because we heard Redthies might have some beer. But
i guess our luck had run out. When we called him he said he was having guests over for dinner and all the beer was gone. Oh well,
you can`t win them all. On the road again in the direction of Pemberton we drove throught winding roads and wet weather. We
finally stopped at Joffrey Lake and had a smokie dinner. The lake looked almost as good as our smokies...

After breakfast and a small repair we went to the Britannia Mining Museum. I really, really liked it, they have some
serious stuff to check out. If you have a chance to visit it, go for it. After lunch near the mine we (Chilli) continued driving
to our next stop, Whistler. Looks like a really nice town with a lot of activity going on. There were guys with skies, snowboards,
skateboards, and a lot of downhill biker. We also saw a Jeep driving course, looked like they promoted their stuff there. We
looked for an internet cafe to see if redthies sent us a phone number and called him. Unfortunately he was busy, but he seemed
like a nice guy. Was nice talking to you, redthis...
then we continued driving and found a nice place to sleep at the Joffrey Lakes Park. Of course it rained all day long...
Btw., i got an email that says my package was delivered to Blaine/WA. Helps me really a lot now...

Me and Steinez had a quick breakfast at Jeffrey Lake Provincial Park, just outside of Pemberton on highway 99. We hit the
road on the direction of Lilloet. Then we drove towards Cache Creek. Just before town we found a scenic area right next to a creek.
Then it was time for stel lunch. The weather turned bad so we decided to keep driving. We drove to Kamloops, and then to Vernon.
In Vernon we bought some groceries and then camped out close to the local car parts store. Nothing like cooking hamburgers for
dinner in the rain. Fortunately there is a dry spot behind the camper due to the overhang of the roof.

While driving towards Vernon the first thing i noticed was how the landscape was changing. First the mountains with
all the trees and lakes, then it started to getting drier. No more trees, just like a desert (not really, but you get the idea).
We had a rest at lunch and while we were napping the weather turned into really hot sunshine. Perfect for a bit relaxation...
While we continued driving the weather turned into rain again. We had another dinner in the rain...

We had a few quick repairs to do on the Chevy. The front fender kept coming out of alignment, so i screwed it on with
some self tapping screws. It looks solid now. We drove towards our destination in pouring rain. We made the turn-off onto the
logging road and stopped to lock the front hubs. With all the rain the road was a little slick and slippery. 37km of logging
road later we arrived at our destination. We quickly set up camp so that we were protected from the rain. We have an area
right beside the lake for cooking, eating, and relaxation. 50feet away we have a small 8foot by 16 foot cabin.

The day started with another fender repair. The third to be exact. The small self tapping screws broke, so Chilli put
in some bigger ones. Seems to be solid now. Then we finally reached our destination, of course in pouring rain. Nice property,
directly at the lake with a small cabin. After we set up the tarp over the cooking area we had dinner. Of course steak...

With the camp set-up done we decided to put the boat in the water. We draged the 12foot aluminium boat into the water
and installed the 10hp motor. At first i could not get the motor started. I found out that it helps to install the fuel line
correctly. Afterwards the little outboard fired right up. Later that evening I thought it would be good to show Steinez how
to fish. He caught the first fish that we had to throw back because it was too small. The one fish we did catch that was large
enough was left for the eagles.

First day at our "new home". The weather cleared up and we had some sunshine. At the boat test drive the lake turned
really rough, so we both got wet. But then we had sunshine again and we dried up really quick. Saw an eagle flying over us. Had some hamburgers for dinner and
went for a little fishing. Seems to be fun...

Awoke at 5.00am to the sound of a huge moose going for a swim. I had to wake Steinez so that he could see it.
It is raining all morning so there is not much to do except count the raindrops. At about 11.00am I came up with the idea to
teach Steinez how to play Backgammon. He won the first game. Also, the rain seemed to have stopped. So now it is time for a
walk after lunch. After a lunch of smokies with melted cheese me and Steinez took a hike further up the logging road. It
seems a developer is selling tiny parcels of land for $88.000. No wander they call it "Fortunes landing". The guy will make a
fortune selling all those tiny lots. Once again the weather has turned to rain. We made it back just before it started to pour.
I challenged Steinez to another game of Backgammon. It seems like he is starting to learn the game...

Incredible weather! It changes from sunshine to rain to thunder every 30mins. Sometimes we had all together at one time. Never seen something like that...

Awoke at 6.00 am. I looked at my watch, and can see that it is the 22nd of July. Woo-Hoo, it`s my birthday! We have
to head into town to get supplies, so I showed Steinez how to pilot the old outboard and now he is sailing across the lake.
I met Steinez at the other side of the lake right next to the coffee shop, up the street from the boat landing. Who knows, maybe
they have some good donuts up there.
All was timed right so we enjoyed (NOT) the worlds slowest internet connection in Nakusp, or anywhere else for that matter. You
people should be happy we could even upload some pics.
Later that evening we got home and had some real German beer. Wicked.

Sailed across the lake with a motorized boat the first time in my live, not a big deal. Of course it was raining. Had
to wait for Chilli for about 2 hours, so i walked a bit around and had breakfast at a nice coffe shop. Of course it stopped raining
the moment i went in...
Took me almost 2hours for the last update, the internet connection ist just incredible slow there. But i managed it and maybe
it`s faster next time. Also bought some German Weissbier in Nakusp. It`s not the best one from Germany, but a lot better than
everything around here...

Steinez is a hardcore hiking trainer. 3 hours yesterday, 6 hours today. Man, that Steinez hardly breathes, as I
struggle up the inclines. Made it back for good eats with a smokie lunch and steak dinner. Perrrrfect.

Walked a bit more around today. As you can see i got myself a hiking stick. Not that I`d need it on those
logging roads, but i`m just used to it...
Went for a little boatcruise and a bit of fishing later...

Time to replenish our depots of essential goods. We need food and ice, and other things. The day started fine with a
little overcast. A little journey accross the lake in calm conditions, and we were at the warf. We drove to town, bought
groceries and experienced the worlds slowest internet, as we did an update to the forum. On the way back, me and Steinez had a
roast chicken lunch, and then performed some repairs on the Chevy.
The boat trip back to camp was soon to be quite the adventure. A storm had quickly approached us, and we still needed to sail
back home. With the storm rapidly approaching we set sail accross the lake in high seas. The little 12foot boat was bobbing
around like a cork as we tried to cross the lake. We had to throttle down to avoid capsizing with the large waves that tried to
take control of the boat. But we eventually made it safely home to camp.
After all was said and done; I have only two words,
Steak Dinner!

The day started nice and the way back ended up "a bit" rought. What a difference... According to my seat in front of
the boat i was wet to the bones when we arrived at camp. But no problem, got a lot of dry clothing there...

Can you say "Rainstorm"? I mean i have never seen that much rain. I went down to camp from the cabin to find the
tarp system completely collapsed. There must have been 50 litres captured in the tarp. It took me forever to remove the excess
water. Steinez assisted me in a new set-up for the tarps. We placed some new poles and changed the main support rope. Soon
the camp was functional and better than before. Lunch, yes it was a tall order. Steinez ordered up a double cheeze burger combo
with CattleBoyz barbeque sauce. I had a single burger...
Later it was fishing and bondo. I can`t let Steinez talents go to waste, so we did some bodywork on the Chevy. And, we actually
caught a fish we could eat. But instead of fighting over a small trout, we decided to leave a sacrifice for the eagles.

Woke up a few times at night, and heared that crazy rainstorm. No wonder the tarp was completely collapsed. But it
should hold up better now. We finished the last spots of bodywork on the Chevy, and are ready to paint soon. Also had some luck
fishing this time...
I keep panning for gold in the little creek near the cabin. Maybe i`ll get some flakes sometimes...

The weather today was completely unperdictable. Sun, cloud, rain, wind and calm, and everything inbetween. We had some
morning fishing with no luck. But then we at least had burgers for lunch. That was ok.
Later we sailed accross the lake to complete bondo repairs. Everything went well until we started to do our rattle can paint job.
I guess the weather gods were not on our site. At least we had a good Steak Dinner!
Evening fishing gave nothing, but thats the way it goes.

We finally started painting the truck. Long way since we started the bodywork... First we sanded down the old paint,
then gave the whole truck a wash, masked it and finally started painting. And then the weather turned bad... We could see it
raining over at our camp when we were at the other side of the lake working on the Chevy.
We had no luck fishing today, maybe tomorrow...

In town we tried to replenish our supplies. But some were temporarily unavailible. It seems nobody stocks rockerguard,
so it was ordered in for the next day. We got groceries and went home. Some hood paint and fishing later we returned to camp for
eats. And as usual, they were good eats.

Looks like they got their internet connection finished. Now it works at an ok speed, so it doesn`t take me forever to
update the forum. Went from one place to another, but we couldn`t get what we needed. But good for me, i could order some nice
goodies...
Finally started painting the truck, it`s nice to see some progress...

Rockerguard in hand we proceeded to paint her up. Wow, this new stuff is way better. Good texture and a huge can for
$9,95, that`s Rockin!
Spent the whole afternoon and evening transforming the old Chevy into "Der Nachtjäger". So awesome to see the transformation.
It`s now got "Urban Camo".

Went into town again, i picked up a few goodies too. Got a Napa Bump Cap, awesome thing, wondering why we don`t have
caps like this in germany. Also got a nice deal on 6 pair of Mechanics gloves and a nice VisionX 10W LED light. Then it was
painting time. We spent the whole rest of the day painting the Chevy, just with a pause to sail accross the lake to get some
dinner. Got home then in the last minute before it got dark, not fun with all the debris out there...

Took it nice and easy today. Peeled off the masking tape and applied some emblems and text to the truck. Things like
"35 PSI" and "official use only" were now spray-stenciled on the bodywork. A slightly unaligned lettering only adds to the
"urban camo". Me and Steinez took some hours to relax and fish on the lake. Steinez got some wicked shot`s of Burton valley and
surrounding peaks. Later that night after dinner we had a campfire lit close to shore. It was the "Valhalla" burning of some
old boots and rotting wood sculptures from around the camp. The fire and heat was so intense that it burnt wet rotten wood.

Had a nice relaxed day today. Fixed my hiking boots and gave them a new layer of leather coating. Feels good to have
the gear in good shape. Peeled the masking tape from the chevy and applied some lettering. After that we went for fishing, but
i mostly had my camera ready instead of a fishing rod...

Woke up again to aother sunny day. The lake is filled with debri, as the stumps, whole trees and sometimes small islands
float past. Time to roll into town and get supplies. Always nice to check out the steak selection at the local grocery store,
and maybe it`s chicken for lunch again. Sounds good, with some "CattleBoyz" barbeque sauce on!
At the campsite we waited for the lake to become calmer. A heavy wind had once again made the water choppy. Something you don`t
want sailing a 12 footer. Made it home later when the water was more placid. Burger dinner, Nice!

Not much to add, just a shopping and relaxation day...

Me and Steinez were going to go hiking, but it`s too hot! Better to just hang around the lake, and use the cold water,
should it became neccessary. Time to change strategy. If it`s too hot in the sun; do something in the shade. Time for some
construction. We had been using a ladder to get up to the first level sleeping area, in the cabin. It was time to see how Steinez
was with wood. He seemed to be very excited about standing on the wood as I cut it with the handsaw. All 55kg was put to the test
as he victoriously held the lumber secure with all his weight. But could he use a hammer and a saw? That will have to be known at
a later date.
Our project was to construct a ladder like staircase out of 2x6 wood. We quickly determined our angles, and then cut and assembled
the pieces. Today we were able to build a small platform, a ladder/staircase, which could be finished the next day.
Later we had ... Steaks. Nice steaks, with of course "CattleBoyz" barbeque sauce.

Now the weather seems to be good. Almost to good, because it was just to hot for a hike. But we found another thing to
do, so no problem. Also read a few magazines, that i bought used at the campground.

This morning after breakfast we finished the ladder/staircase in the cabin. Steinez showed that he was also capable with
wood, as well as with mechanical things.
Later we had to fall a big tree that had become dangerous, due to the fact it was dead at the top. Chainsaw in hand we went into
the bush. It did not take long before the tree was lying on the ground.
In the afternoon we went to the local autowrecker to try to find a front driveshaft for the Chevy. They had some we could use,
but for some reason they would not sell them. The day ended with an awesome steak dinner!

Did a lot of things today. First a bit of woodwork in the cabin, then some "logging". On the way to the autowrecker we
sailed accross the lake with the cable ferry, interesting thing. Unfortunately we didn`t get the front sriveshaft we were looking
for at the junkyard, but i scored some "Camper Special" badges, which i`ll put on my Blazer...

Today is the day we leave cmp to continue our travels. We packed everything up and sailed back and fourth accross
the lake with our stuff. We loaded up with supplies and drove towards the small town of Sandon. We arrived there just in time
for a smokie dinner.

Time to leave the "new home". Last time stocking our supplies up in Nakusp and we`re driving to Sandon. I`m really
excited to check out the mining stuff...

We woke up to the cold of 1200 metres elevation. We went for a hike to view the old mines and connecting railways of Sandon.
Unfortunately we took a wrong turn on a logging road. The road went steepy uphill so at least we got some exercise. Later we
found the right trail and viewed the old mines. Steinez was very enthusiastic about all the old mining artifacts. Later we viewed
the mining museum. We drove towards Nelson to get a few supplies. On a beach north of Nelson in a provincial park we enjoyed a
great steak dinner.

We started hiking the old K&S Railway track early in the morning. I knew the right way, but i let Chilli take the lead.
He screwed it up a bit, maybe he just wanted an extra workout. I finally guided us to the right trail, and it was just awesome.
I really enjoyed walking around in the old mines and imagine how it looked a hundred years ago...
The museum we visited was great too, but nothinh like discover the things at your own...
there were so many things around, i could spend a whole month there hiking around and looking for old mining stuff...

We woke up early and continued our journey. We stopped in the old town of Greenwood and had some coffee and eats at the
local historic bakery. The bakery even has its own 55 Chevy as a delivery car. The whole town is very nostalgic with old turn of the century historic buildings.
Later we drove to the town of Osoyos, were we relaxed at the local beach and cooled town in the water.
We traveled on to the city of Keremeos. Steinez is a volunteer firefighter in Germany and he wanted to visit the local firehall. At
the Keremeos fire dept. we were given the grand tour by a very friendly firefighter named Jim. For more than an hour we toured
the entire firehall. We saw equipment, trucks, hoses, office and quarters used by the dept. staff. A big thanks goes out to Jim
for his first class tour.
Later we retired to the pub accross the street for a cold beer and some great chicken wings. Pretty good considering there was no Cattle Boys on!

We had a bit relaxation for the better part of the day, then continued driving in the direction of Princeton. We saw
the Pub which was supposed to have WiFi, so we stopped there. I saw a guy driving out with the fire engines from the firehall. Beeing a
firefighter myself, i really wanted to check out a canadian firehall. So i went to the guys and told them, I`m a firefighter
from Germany and the guy named Jim gave us a really nice tour of the firehall and all the equipment. It was really nice to see all
the stuff those guys use, and all the similarities to my firehall, given the fact that my department is on the other side of the world. Thanks
for the tour Jim. I will make sure that i send you a patch from our fire department...

We woke up the next morning to howling winds that shook the whole truck. We drove throught the town of Hedley were there
was a sign advertising a gold mine tour. I was tired so Steinez did the tour himself. He was gone almost 6 hours so I am sure the
tour was great. Later we drove to Princeton were we fueled up and stopped for some wicked rib eye steaks with "CattleBoyz"
barbeque sauce.

This night was crazy. It was so windy that the whole truck started to sway... When we saw that sign, advertising a gold
mine tour, i knew that i wanted to take the tour. We came a bit early, so we drove to Bromley Rock Park and relaxed a bit. The
tour started at 11.30am in the office building with a small museum-like collection and a movie. Then they drove us up to 1500m
elevation with some buses, close to the Mascot Gold Mine. We had to walk down 600 stairs to get to the mine, the same amount of
course on the way back. The mine was really nice, the guys did a great job restoring those buildings. It was a bit on the expensive
side at $41 per adult, but was well worth it. I felt the money spent was worthwhile because it was used to restore the mine. If
you`re in that area I`d recommend to take the tour...

From Princeton we drove towards Vancouver, stopping in Chilliwack to visit Rick, the owner of Chilliwack Spring Service.
It turns out that there are mud bogging races in Chilliwack this weekend, and Rick will be racing his truck called the "Hooligan".
We made some arrangements to camp in Ricks backyard. Later that day we had Steak dinner.

We arrived at Chilliwack today, met this cool guy called Rick. Looks like his shop does all the cool stuff to trucks.
He has a nice biggy truck and a pretty radical F-350 on 47`s. We saw ads for the Abbotsford Airshow and the Chilliwack Mud Bogs,

Today was the start of the Chilliwack mud bog racing. We entered the grounds after paying for a pit pass. Each racer
gets 2 runs each day and is judged by their 3 best runs out of 4. Everything from alcohol fueled big blocks with superchargers
to street machines were at the races, each in their respective class. After a day of racing we returned home to a barbeque and
a bondfire.

This was the second day of racing. The mud was deeper today so some of the racers had problems getting through the
course. Our friend Rick won third place in his class. The "Hooligan" had raced through the mud 4 times. We applauded Rick on his
great race and the trophy he recieved.
Later we returned to Ricks place where we celebrated with our favorite. Steinez enjoyed a bottle of beer called "big trois pistoles".

Last day of the mud races today. Was even better, because the mud was deeper and heavier. Also it looked like some of
the guys used more than 4 cylinders of their V8`s on the last run. One truck almost flipped to it`s side due to the crazy torque
his engine put`s out...
