Win a Chaser Trailer with an Eezi-Awn Tent!

http://www.bajataco.com/ACF/AT1.jpg

African Conservation Fund is proud to announce that America's finest builder of rugged camping trailers for off-highway use, Adventure Trailers (Upland, California) has donated a new Chaser Trailer, and Equipt Expedition Outfitters (Salt Lake City, Utah) has topped it off with an Eezi-Awn folding rooftop tent - the ultimate setup for your family's own adventure safaris right here at home. Our other much-appreciated marketing partners are Overland Journal and Utah 4-Wheel Drive Association.

Raffle tickets available online! Limited number available - the final raffle will be held at Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, March 2008. We'll also have lots of monthly prizes to give away as well.

Click here (http://www.africanconservationfund.org/content/view/77/5/) for details on this exciting raffle, worth $8,000!

All proceeds benefit community-based conservation and economic development efforts in East Africa.

I'm travelling in East Africa until July 25, so there may be a delay in mailing out tickets - please be patient.

Thank you all for your support!

Free tickets are indeed available, from a guy named Scott who will be idly swinging a Hi-Lift jack handle when you ask.

Seriously, in order to make the raffle legal in all states we had to make the price a donation.

So far no one has asked. We hang out with good people.

Thanks so much everyone - this is just making me feel so humbled, all your great support.

I am in Kenya right now (and just got back from Tanzania), and though I can't go into huge detail right now, I can report that there are FANTASTIC things happening with our partnerships right now and will soon be great opportunities for overlanders to get involved even more with some amazing projects starting up in the South Rift. Everyone here - the Maasai communities I work with, that is - are as excited about your interest and support as you are in supporting them!

Asante sana - kwaheri!

I'd like to support the African Conversation Fund and take the chance of rolling home with a new trailer in tow.

Does anyone know if the contest is open to everyone? Nothing mentionned in the rules.

Thanks,

Certainly! Transportation and import duties (?) are up to you, of course.

For our Canadian friends, AT is certified by Transport Canada, all of our trailers are pre approved for importation. So the Canadian Federal regulations are met.

AT trailers also qualify as a NAFTA import so there are no duties or taxes upon importation. The exception to this is the tent.

You can import the trailer as a personal import and do the customs clearance yourself, or employ the services of a customs broker.

AT can provide logistical assistance to the winner if they require shipping in North America.

As for the rest of the world, AT can provide assistance to the winner if they wanted to export the trailer. We have considerable experience in this area and have great contacts in the shipping, crating and documentation areas.

I'm with Chuck.

Incidentally, I was totally impressed with the way the trailer rode on the way back from Prescott. There wasn't much in it, so we lowered the pressure in the air bags and it floated smoothly over everything from interstate to our dirt washboard. No wild bouncing around like with most empty heavy duty trailers. Load it back up, bump up the bags again, and it'll ride the same full of gear.

Big thanks for the information gents. My donation has been sent!
I've never imported a trailer or vehicle personally but from what I understand it's an easy process. My co-worker just imported a car with no problem and he had never done it before.

Thanks for the offer of support! :victory:
