Just picked her up this past Sunday... 1994 RRC LWB, 107K miles on her, 2" lift, sliders, diff guards and get this... ALL the service records since new, including the original purchase invoice! ($44,000 new in 1994). My wife and kids have dubbed her "The Hulk". She replaces The Black Widow (1996 DI... RIP).

LOL... only a few mods thus far... sliders, diff guards, 2" lift. What's to come? Mouahahahahahaha.... RoverTracks HD axles front and back, ARB lockers front and back, RoverTracks HD steering components, Rovertym 3" suspension lift, Rovertym 2" body lift, Rovertym bumpers front and rear, GBR 4.10 R&P, GBR double double cardan drive shafts, shall I go on? That should all be done within a year's time. Um...er...pending spousal approval... :shakin:

As for the legroom... the LWB's frame is 8" longer than the SWB. Got to love that with kids!

Steven,

This will be a very exciting build. The LWB classic is a favorite of mine.

What are the plans?

One of my vendors has a LWB. I love riding in the back seat. It has more leg room them my Suburban!

That would take care of the toddler kicking the back of the seats.

Sweet truck. I've always had a thing for the Range Rover Classics. Almost bought a '92 swb before I bought my 80 but it had a few too many issues not taken care of by the previous owner for me to feel comfortable with it. I didn't realize the LWB's had THAT much more rear legroom. Congrats!

Those rims are for the DD tires. I am getting additional rims to mount MT's on... and I always prefer black!:)

The vehicle is absolutely beautiful.
I have been very interested in these rigs but don't know anything about them. Seems like a very nice balance of space, off-road ability, and payload.

You can always check stuff out on lrrforums.com. From your username, I am assuming you are in Sacramento... LRR has a ton of NorCal people on there and you can always come wheeling with us one weekend. I am sure I or someone will be more than willing to let you drive a landie and suck you over to the dark side...:chowtime:

Nope, found it on lrrforums.com. Another one just sold this morning. I think there is still a 95 RRC SWB on there for around $5K... been for sale for a while, he might come down on the price. If you have an idea on what you want to pay and what you are looking for, post it up or PM me. I am always running into stuff.

Thanks for your offer! However, I already purchased an Isuzu Trooper. :(

I was in the market several months ago...maybe later on I might pick one up. Can you tell me how reliable that V8 and the auto tranny is? I read up on these older Rovers and decided that an older car might not be in my best interest.

Old car = more wrenching = upset wife. :(

LOL... my wife loves the LWB!

As far as the engines go... as long as the aluminum block has never overheated and regular maintenance has been kept up, it should run for a long time.

As far as the tranny goes, that all depends on how often the fluids have been changed. It should be fine either way. But the strange thing is that if the fluids have never been changed, it is recommended that you only partially drain it and fill it up with the amount you drained. Something about all new fluid causes the insides to break down if the fluids have not been changed in a long time. Weird I know.

So does it have the air suspension? If so are you going to remove it.

Air suspension is gone! Has an Old Man Emu 2" lift which I will probably replace with a www.rovertym.com 3" suspension lift and 2" body lift. I only need enough room to fit 235/85-16 MT's in there and keep the COG low. By adding the body lift instead of more suspension lift, it allows me to keep the COG lower as opposed to a 5" suspension lift.
