For those of you using Macs and running MacGPS Pro, I just got their set of 100k topo maps. Comes on 4 DVDs already georeferenced for MacGPS Pro and includes all states except Alaska. Works really well with the new software. Nice feature is the 'Find USGS Topo Map from Location' which will open the correct topo map for you.
Only drawback is the price. I wanted to get 25k maps, but those come on a state by state basis and at $40 per state, I thought I'd be better off to spend $50 for the country and see how it works.
Of course now that Google Earth has a Mac version, things will be getting a lot easier!

I bought a few states and hope to have time in the next month to check it out with the Garmin 276c - which will soon have Mac support :)

I saw that Garmin was adding Mac support. It's been a long time coming, but finally the wait is winding down!

Apple is gaining considerable momentum on all fronts. Their media model will eventually take the lead for home/personal use...
I am glad I bought Apple stock at $14 :ylsmoke:

Nice buy! I was unable to come up with funds at the time. . .:smilies27
I'm sure you'll manage to invest the gains in some hairbrained travel idea!! :D

Oh thank God!!! I thought I was going to have to buy a PC for navigation... I think my 12" powerbook will make a perfect carputer when I eventually upgrade. I'll be lurking here more often to see how this works out.

It does me good to hear so much Mac discussion...
I've been a Mac user/fan since the beginning. I still have the original Mac with the small little b&w screen, no hard drive, etc. I turned it into a fishtank.
In any case, I'm currently Mac-less (soon to be solved) and GPS-less (again, soon to be solved). Graham's information here is good to hear. I've been worried that I'd have to go PC based in the rig due to Mac/GPS integration not being at the same level.

Desertgirl has an intel iMac - but somehow I still can't see running a '80's garage OS on it :Wow1:

Bwahahahah! Excellent! Mr. Dude, I have a feeling you and I will get along just fine if/when we ever meet (while I probably won't make this years Expedition Trophy, I am planning to do it in '07).

You dog!
Thanks for the information, Graham. And good to hear that Garmin will be supporting Mac. Perhaps it's time to replace my antique Magellan.
