Hey Guys

Going to be picking up a Canon Rebel XTi next week and the website says that its Recording Medium is CompactFlash (CF) Card Type I & II.

No one i have asked at any store, nor the canon customer service, can tell me if i would benefit (or even if it would work), from getting a type III or Type IV

Any ideas?

Thanks

It's nothing to worry about. It's just the thickness of the CF card that differentiate CF Type I and II. Type II cards are 5mm thick whereas type I cards are 3.3mm. Type II cards generally have the larger capacity because that's where most micro HDD is used in.

There's also CF v3.0 and v4.0, these versions dictates the speed which CF cards read/write. CF v4.0 is the fastest.
