Any of you who've been on trips requiring water crossings run marine grade lube instead of auto grade in diff, t-case, etc.... ?

The grade of lube won't matter once it's contaminated with water and mud; either change it after the trip where you had deep crossings, or move your vents up high.

Straight up. Gas doors, they're not just for gas caps anymore.

And for zerks it helps to always use a high quality grease like Lucas red #2 etc

Vents up high aside, marine grade lubes have emulsifiers that keep moisture suspended, reducing or preventing damage until you can flush/fill.
Anyone run automotive grade gear lube or witnessed the results in a "sealed" lower unit or outdrive?
