Well the day has come. After being for sale for two days she's sold...It was weird to see her drive off.

Hey

Well I must say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Hell, would have to freeze over before I'd be trading that Jeep for a Toy (No offense to TOY owners, I just like Jeeps). Darn nice looking rig. Good luck with the new build.

Nice Jeep, glad to see you can cut bait so easily! I'm the opposite, I go through all the stages of grief when I sell a vehicle starting w/ denial...

Forget the 100 Series, I think that you should build that Early Bronco race truck you were talking about. :jump:

No question the answer is "This". Wow that Brute looks great in blue. Maybe I need to rethink the though of selling my 03 Rubicon. What's 10k more for a cool Jeep. Oh I wish I had the skills to make that happen.

Hands down it would be this Brute on 39's! But alas...I need more doors, not less. I know where a rolled tj is with a Nth degree long arm kit on it. Maybe I can work an angle on it for cheap. And your right. What's 8995.00 for the kit???

what about a 4-door unlimited?

Dirty Harry
07-26-2007, 12:09 PM
The Brute looks nice but really it is just a copy of the 45 that you already have. :xxrotflma

I think that the Land Cruiser is a good choice, I am just sad to hear that you are not going to heavily modify it. :hehe:

I'll be touring the AEV facility in about 7 weeks. I have to see one of these up close and personal. Has anyone seen a build thread for a Brute on the net?

You could pick up the Brute kit minus the bed for about $5K...and then give the boys at AT a call.

I'll be replacing my XJ in a few years and thats one of the thoughts that i keep coming back to.

I haven't seen a build thread online but both FourWheeler and 4Wheel Drive & Sport Utility have both recently turned their TJ project vehicles into Brutes. Brute + AT would be

I have multiple GPS units...Why would I need a compass?

I could'nt resist. Thank you though.

And Harry we will see what happens. I was at Samco yesterday playing with someone else's fox shocks for a 100 series.

Bet I can guess who's shocks those were. Now that you have gotten rid of your VERY nice jeep, good luck on the hunt for the 100. Did you sell it to someone local or did it leave town?

Now maybe we can get you and Redline to hook up with the rest of us and do some Nevada traveling. (Of course while I am typing this, I am without a vehicle:safari-rig: )

Sam's getting the rig in a couple weeks while I'm backpacking...looking forward to it...however it'll surely take me awhile to tune the shocks to my liking (not looking forward to that part). I was concerned about overall durability on the Foxes but he assured me they are tough and relatively maintenance free...

We (Redline) and I were discussing this very topic. I'd love to go on a run. at least there is still the HJ45. The rig went to Cali, but he is supposedly a very active rock crawler. Look for it on the 'Con and Johnson Valley.

Durability of the Foxes won't be the issue. They (Fox) makes a great product. I wish I would have had Fox's or King's on the Unlimited.

Take great notes on tuning and such...I'll be following your lead on the shock choice eventually. I'm just waiting for you to dial them in.:D

Hey

You know, I think if AEV could come up with a brute style bed to modify the 4 door wrangler, they would have a real winner. Especially if they made into a "reasonably priced" turn-key models that was sold through existing Jeep dealers. Equip them with 35's, make an option with available hemi, and rubicon version.....They would lose their minds with orders for them.

I have never coveted a non-sports car as much as I have the Brute. I also love that the pic appeared to be in Moab. If I didn't wheel my rig as hard as I do, I'd consider doing one. I just couldn't see flopping a Brute and not wanting to kill myself afterwards.

As to the JK Unlimited, if you need more doors, just get a Cherokee. :D

You parted with your LJ easier than I thought you might... but you used it well while you had it and now its time for a change (of life).

I was a little concerned after selling my LJ, and still think its a really nice Jeep when I see Mike driving it. But when I'm driving the (Toyota) Mall Crawler I'm very comfortable and happy :-)

Going all the way back to the beginning, why race an Early Bronco? Into the whiplash that short WB offers?

Least anyone think I'm anti-EB search this user name on Broncofix.

With the Stork :av-7: coming the two door projects have been shelved for a while. Undoubtedly the Bronco would be insane. I have narrowed down the field of TLC 100's to look at. It will be a fun project in a different way. I will probably always miss the jeep, but I can always build a better one next time.

:Wow1: Wow, congrats! I hope this one is as cool as Wyatt! I think that a Cruiser wagon makes perfect sense for the growing family and exploring all of the ghost towns and backroads of northern Nevada.

Well, its been a few months and I have to admit...I miss it more than I thought I would. The new rig (80 series) blew a headgasket on the way to the Expo Trophy, so its been in the shop for a some time.

Isn't that the way it always goes, you never realize how much you'll miss a machine until it's not yours anymore. You'll feel better when the 80 is under your feet again.

My much missed rig, and the one I regret getting rid of the most.........

With the new head gasket and the extra injector(s) your supercharged 80 will be ready for a rippin' 2008 :-)

I didn't miss the jeep on the road trip to the expo, that's foir sure. The 80 felt great.

Ever since seeing Currie's Commanche I really like those. Add Mario's supercharger and that's a nice little truck.

Two more injectors is going to be nice.
