It's been warm here in SoCal lately.. and was thinking about how nice it would be if it was cold again... so post up your favorite snow shots!
Here's my absolute favorite. Made JP magazine last year. Yosh is in the passenger seat freezing.

It was coming down like a madman. I remember having to drive with my head out the window like ace ventura cause the 1967 wipers couldn't hang (they run off the engine!). The XL's did great until i hit some ice then the huge truck turned into a sled. That was scary.
And yes, im a cool guy with my sunglasses on! (dont ask, i dont know why i had them on lol)

My beater is behind the Jeep - we almost made it to the top of the rim near Williams, AZ. It's only a few hundred yard away in all the fresh snow. We were both at 4 to 5 PSI, and were getting pretty good floatation, but just couldn't push any more snow on the grade...

Don't get a chance to play in the snow very often when you live on the face of the sun.

One of my favorite winter trips was back in '93 or so when Scott and I cruised up to the vicinity of Silver City, Idaho. Busting through the snow banks and making the first tracks of the year with your best bud- too bad I didn't get any pictures.
Since I moved to Alaska, winter wheeling has lost its charm. Hovering over a CJ heater when it's -30F out, knowing full well that getting stuck is going to be painful, is less fun than it sounds here. Strange, I'll ski all day in conditions like that, but I feel colder sitting behind the wheel of my Jeep. Maybe it's time to upgrade the heater.

Yes, I did buy a bigger snow shovel. I had to order it off the internet, you could not find any in town after that storm.

It was like a month after that before you could find them in the stores, I was in the same shape as Alex except mine is purple. I got some shots on the home system I'll get loaded and posted tonight.

No electricity/heat for 5+ days, trees were crashing into neighbors' houses during the night due to weighted branches doing untold damage; roof collapses. Lucky we had some food, a tub full of water, and a kerosene heater.

A few years ago a friend of mine bought a brand new aluminum avalanche shovel (looked a lot like the one in your pic), and when he wasn't looking his brother used it to shovel the concrete driveway.
Shovel came back about 2" shorter.
Boy was my friend pissed.

Is this one in the Sierras?
Top of Beartooth Pass on the Montana-Wyoming state line, 20 miles east of the NE corner of Yellowstone NP. One of the most scenic mountain drives in the lower 48.
It looks just like a spot I used to go to in California. Very beautiful. I'll have to take a drive up there and see what your talking about.
