Looking to buy a Diesel G, any year model recommendations (230GD, 280GD, 300GD, etc)? I'm new and I found one in SD, CA which needs a lot of work for around $7,000.00. It's a 1983 280GD.

Welcome to G's.

There was no 230GD or 280GD. There were 230GE and 280GE's--both gas.

240GD and 300GD are the most prevalent in the USA, but still pretty difficult to find. Most will be rusty in all of the typical spots.

How much do you want to spend?

Keep tabs on Craigslist(allofcraigs.com), ebay, this site, Pointed3, ClubGwagen.
