I wish I had more practice at this, but Oregon is a really mellow state for harsh weather. Shooting a 20D and had the 17-40 f/4L with a circular polarizer on (it was just on). I wasn't sure shooting 1600 ISO was a smart move but wanted something fast enough to get the strikes? I think this was shot something near wide open (5.6?). 40-50s exposure
Ideas/critique would be great! I noticed as it got darker I got cleaner shots. This was shot above Durango overlooking Lemon Resevoir. I headed up into the forest around Hermosa.. not much open up there but I found a nice grade of road with a view to spend the night. This storm was moving at a nice leisurely pace from left to right. Haven't tried to apply something like Noise Ninja to it yet.
