After many months of back and forth thinking and measuring, I have come to the conclusion that adding a couple more kids to the seating arrangement just makes it too tight.

Up for sale is my 1976 Pinzgauer 710k. You can read the standard specs here:http://www.offroad-adventure-travel.com/Pinzgauer-about.html

The add ons are as follows:

--New Rancho 9000s with remote in cab adjuster.

--Redesigned seating arrangement. Now seats 7 and still has all the original storage space in the rear.

--Rear 2 inch Receiver hitch-custom built and powder coated black.

--Electric Fuel Pump.

--Center steps on both front wheels.

--Powder coated rims black.

I still have all the original parts that came with it if interested. They will be included. Table, attennas, orginal pintel hitch, etc.

Runs out great. Starts everytime! Very dependable. Gets 18mpg down the highway. Lockers front and rear and everything shifts on the fly and smoothly. I have over $16500 invested. First $15k takes it.

Ron,

From the Off-road adventure site you linked to:

M body type carries 10 people (4X4), 14 people (6x6)

I think you still have some room!! :snorkel:

Good luck with the sale. What are you going to replace it with?

cheers

Man I'd love to drive that thing to school! Too bad I'm happy with my present rig. Hope it sells soon, sounds like a good deal.

What have Pinz people done to address seating? Are there any good aftermarket options for more plush seating?

Talk about the perfect family mobile. Dang! Air cooled and no AC would kill me down here...unless...

LOL! You guys are somthing else!lol. The M series fit more people but in a troop fashion with no side doors. The side doors take away alot of the seating. I could probably fit everyone if I lost the rear storage completely. The main downfall with that is that you cant carry any gear. So everytime I wanted to go anywhere, Id have to pull a trailer.

Ron,

That is the sweetest 64 Galaxie! I would love one of those! Too bad I don't have the cash to build one of those or buy your ultra sweet Pinz!

TTT for a really nice Pinz.

That Pinz is so sweet. Man I wish I had the cash and the room for a 5th vehicle. How does it tow? I mean, you want to trade for a Tundra? haha

Not sure if its a better tow rig than a tundra, but they are rated at 1 and a 1/4 ton. The brakes are huge as well. I know a guy with several pinzgauers and he uses one to pull others back and forth to his shop. And would would consider a trade towards a truck like that.

Damn you Ron, now all sorts of wheels are turnign in my head. ha ha Truth be told, the Pinz is a dream vehicle for me but it would have to be a replacement for the Cruiser since I need a daily driver and I'm loving having a pickup. You need an FJ80?

How about all or parts of
1969 & 1971 Honda Trail 90s
1971 Jeepster w/ rebuilt 226 & rebuilt T350 trans
1975 Mercedes bus with new rings, new inj. pump in OM-352
1997 Chev Tahoe P.O.S. daily driver?

I like your Pinz and all that I have read of other Pinzies, and the one Pinzgauer I have actually gotten to touch.

Sorry 309, I need to clear stuff more than collect more! I dont mind trading for one vehicle, but with that many, Id have no place for them.

BTT. Guess I should get serious about selling this thing.

I saw that a member on here in Fla had just bought one, saw you were in Fla and thought it meant you had sold it.

Well, sir, you missed the highlight of the opportunity, in that I have traded away the Tahoe.

(Actually, I traded it in on a Sprinter, and made momma so mad I could probably go ahead and by your Pinz and not be in any worse trouble.)

Good luck with the sale!

Ron,

Serious question, what have other Pinz's done about AC? I'm looking to make a serious change here in vehicular devices and everything's on the table. Neither my 100 or 80 are big enough for all of us. How does it do on the dyno for emissions?

Funny, I was just thinking about your Pinz today, and then this thread got live again.

Actually, I guess it's not all that great a coincidence, because I think about your Pinz most days...

(I still don't have the nerve to take my money away from whatever it is supposed to be doing, and give it to you so that I can have your truck. But I think about it some.)

Ive seen ac units from RVs mounted on the roof. Its fairly common and painted to match, it actually doesnt look weird up there. I think thats the best option in my opinion. Power steering was the only other option I thought about. The other day I just found out that the toyota MR2 used an electric pwr steering setup. I think that would make for an easy swap without too much fuss.
