No, I didn't buy a new Disco II (but have been pondering an 04 as an option), but was forwarded this Youtube link from a friend.
Ah, the memories, ripped by some stranger from my site and compiled in a nice, easy to watch video. Youtube is nutty...

This vehicle (http://www.expeditionswest.com/vehicles/ewvehicles/Land_Rover_Discovery/index.html) was the greatest challenge for me. I liked everything about it except the frequent visits to the dealership.

I don't know if that's criminal or not but you might as well be flattered. Life on the 'net....
And hey, Eric Clapton singing Robert Johnson? That was an awesome choice!

So some random dude made a music montage featuring a vehicle that's not his being driven by someone he doesn't know? Weird. Cool video though!

Well, at least it's attributed. But strange. I like how your face is blurred like you're some Blackwater operative.
Are you?

i would love to see u in a rover as well...... MINE! http://expeditionportal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7940
its bone stock and well maintained. i bought it LR certified. it has absolutly no butchery done to it so its a clean slate, perfect for your type of build. and low low miles to boot. for you scott, the price could be right

Yea, but have you seen *THE* picture? It is enough to scare just about anyone away from a 'rover.
If we ask real nice, maybe Scott will post the service history picture.

ever notice how the loudest critics and naysayers don't even own a rover, but they all know how crappy they are. ;)

It's a common thing I see too often!

Mine has treated me very well. The only warranty issue that I've ever had is a bad brake light switch. I've got 54000 miles on it now (about 20000 of that on the trail <70 off-road treks>.
A couple of minor things: like a front drive shaft gone bad - due to a 3" lift...wrecked rear bumper - crossing deep narrow arroyos....scraped doors and fenders.
You're right. Most LR naysayers don't own one. The naysayers who do own one usually have no experience driving off-road sensibly.

My DII was a lemon, which I do not believe is true of all Rovers. I just had a bad apple. 35 repairs (many of them major) over seven dealer visits in two years. I barely made it back from Mexico when an AC pulley was coming apart, oh and the condensation drain clogged, flooding the passenger footwell, and the rear trim panel fell off into the cargo area. That was just one trip :)
I was very easy on that truck (like I am with all equipment), but I did use it off-highway extensively.
Here is the form feed list of the repairs that the dealer service rep printed out for me before I sold it.

Oh, I still want another Rover :)

That picture is a riot!
I'm sure it wasn't funny when you were dealing with all of that, but that is a classic photo.

Man, after seeing that pic, I'd be tempted to sell you my '04 if I hadn't just spent so much time getting it ready for Expo '07
