Hi, Bill,
I'm not sure I will be able to help, but I recall some info on the Garmin (http://www.garmin.com/garmin/cms/site/us/support/) website that may be relevant.
I am a Mac user, but I run MacGPS Pro on my PowerBook, connected to my Garmin unit.
To upload or add the track to Google Earth, I do the following: When I return home I save my track log as a .kml file in my documents folder. This is the format needed by Google Earth. Open Google Earth, then choose "Open..." from the drop down menu. It's pretty easy.
Wheher you can save directly from your GPS, I don't know.
If you can check your manual or download one from the Garmin site, perhaps it will tell you how to save it in this format.
Sorry if that doesn't answer your question, but maybe it will get you started.
Good luck!
