The Sportsmans Expo (http://www.sportsexpos.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewlocation&locationnumber=6)is held every year in Phoenix, and has lots of cool camping and overland gear.

I will have my truck on display in the Adventure Trailers booth, and hope to see some of you there!

Have fun Scott. I won't make it due to the rainbow bridge backpacking trip. Someday I'll be able to make it to more of the "trade" shows.

Expo is good entertainment. Unfortunately this year they scheduled it the same weekend as Score San Felipe 250, so I will miss it. Have been wanting to check out your tent, but doesn't look like it will be then.

Scott,

Diana and I plan to be there (Andy's not racing in the SF 250; still healing.) I hear that there will be several of us in attendance, maybe we could all get together for a lunch/dinner/breakfast...or something.

Since 1986, we have served the finest and freshest seafood in the Phoenix area. Located just off Highway 51, this was our second restaurant to feature the intimate Top of the Market upstairs, and the first to introduce a traditional sushi bar, which has since maintained a substantial and loyal following. Enjoy casual dining in our spacious downstairs restaurant, which includes a comfortable oyster bar and cocktail bar.

Sounds great, Scott. We're definites.

BajaTaco, carpooling sounds fine. We're planning to overnight in Phoenix and spend both Sat and part of Sun at the show...plus D wants a stop by a couple of her favorite "spots".

"Oh my," said Pooh Bear.

I am going to try and swing by the expo on Sunday... I had to do some creative shift trades to get off for AZROCKS and the Black mtn trips, and have to work most of that weekend. I'll try and spot you guys out on Sunday!

Hehehe - 10-4. We'll probably forego the carpool then, I think we'll be returning Sat. night after dinner.

Wil, too bad we'll miss you on Sunday!

Not close to the Expo location but a damned good place for large group dinners is Kyoto's in old town Scottsdale. It's similar to Ichiban's or any of the other Japanese restaurants you find around town here where you drink Sake Bombers all night long.

dont forget the rain coats...

Looks like some heavy winter storms will be rolling through the high country this weekend and leave us in the valley with some rain as well.

The fish market is awesome!:victory: I can taste it now, and Colette will love it (she hates fish, but she has eaten there before). For those that may not know, the fish market is just south of the 51 on the north side of Camelback. You can not exit the 51 on Camelback, so if you are travelling north you need to exit at Highland, and if you happen to be travelling south you will need to exit at Coulter. Can't wait to see everyone at the Expo and for dinner, it should be a good time!

Well, we're all working hard this rainy Phoenix afternoon. Looks like Seattle outside.

Mario, Anne, and Scott are laboring hard at the Adventure Trailers booth, and Diana and I took the tougher job of wandering around looking at all the exhibits and booths, sampling jerky and Polish sausages, purchasing yet more camping chairs and a replacement roll-up table, and generally wearing ourselves out while the other three just took it easy beside a fire pit. There was no fire in the pit, but the image was impressive.

The weather didn't deter 55 million persons from clogging the aisles and booths of the Expo. The going was so slow at one point that I put my beer down on the top of someone's baby carriage while I stuffed 'just one more' piece of jerky in my mouth. (The other hand was holding a plastic bag containing a bunch of tempting brochures for fly-fishing everywhere from Tierra del Fuego to the Kamchatka Peninsula and all points in between.) I had plenty of time for this maneuver as the parents of the sleeping infant were busy casting the latest bass plugs.

Lots of stuff at these shows. I'm always amazed at just how much more stuff seems to fall under the "must have" category.

We sure liked the Adventure Trailers--both the Chaser and the Horizon. As we were walking away from their booth Diana asked, "Did you get an order blank?" :jumping: Outstanding folks! Now, if I manage a good stop tomorrow for some bakelite, I think I'll be sending in the particulars to Mario, tout de suite. [Note, Scott! That's French. Hint, hint.]

Next is dinner at the Fish Mkt. :eatchicke (Hey, that's a chicken!)

We just returned to the hotel after a swell dinner at the Fish Market with good friends. There were two empty chairs, though. Not sure who was missing as we had such a good time.

Diana and I had absolutely NO TROUBLE making it off the snow-bound hills (north of Prescott) and down into wet Phoenix this morning, but then we were in our Xterra today. :p Rumor has it that the empty chairs were supposed to have been filled by...... Apparently the weather in Prescott has worsened. Guess we'll have to go back up there tomorrow and see what all the fuss is about.

I got an e-mail from one of my employees that lives up there and she said the got over 6 inches in town (PRC) at 9:30 PM... not much fuss, but hey any time it snows there seems to be a fuss up there. Especially on the hill by the square.

Nothing like a good razzing from Russell. :D

Sorry we didn't make it pal. We were eastbound on Sheldon in the Matrix, on schedule, when Sharon decided she had another idea in mind (as mentioned in the other thread). Hope the bake-a-lite hunt was successful!

LMAO at the beer and jerky comments :xxrotflma

I hear they have good wine at the Fish Market. ;)

Scott, it was good hooking up with you again, and letting Colette see the Adventure Trailers, I think I might be able to convince her on one of those now. Dinner was great and it was good chatting and laughing with everyone, and it was nice seeing Allen and Diana again. Too bad Scooter could not join us:p . The show was fun, albeit a bit damp and chilly. I could not complain though as I scored a 48" hi-lift and isolator for the staggering sum of $55 out the door. I was a bit down on the fact that they did not have any lift mates at the show for the awesome show prices, but it now gives me a reason to go down to the store and pick one up.:D
