1996 22' Serro Scotty Pioneer on a Dodge Dakota chassis 4x4 with a 318, 5.2L V8. This has been my home away from home for the last 3 years. I have taken her all over and she's never let me down. The engine with 100,xxx miles is smooth and doesn't skip a beat. The transmission and 4wd have worked flawlessly, performing best in the snow. I've driven through storms of 10 feet or more to ski at Kirkwood, stay at the resort, in warmth and comfort when others had to drive home or to South Lake to find a room. She's the perfect ski/surf bum rig or weekend family getaway coach. The best days in the motorhome are skiing pow in the morning then driving to Santa Cruz in the afternoon to surf at sunset. She's easy to park. I've boondocked many times in SF or LA unnoticed by anyone because she fits in a single parking space. Prefect for a Cummins 4BT diesel conversion!!!! All of my Sportsmobile, Revcon, Host, Tiger, Earth roamer, chinook, bigfoot friends are envious that i have everything they have and more at a fraction the cost. The state taxes and registration are much cheaper than a truck and truck camper as well, because it's not a commercial vehicle. The value of these rigs are only going up because they are so rare and they don't make them like this anymore, or at a reasonable price the average "Joe" can afford.

-Headlights polished last week (very bright now)
-New radiator and hoses within 20k miles
-Recent Smog (told that the engine had the best smog results at that station for a V8 )
-New wipers
-New headlight switch (2013)
-New turn signal switch (2013)
-New Stereo with USB/Aux ports
-4hi/low work perfect (used many times)
-Four new AT tires less than 2000k (amazing grip in snow but quiet on the highway)
-Two extra AT tires for the tag axle when those need replacing

-AC/DC power off the generator, shore power and recently replaced coach battery.
-satellite dish (receiver not included)
-dvd player with TV and good sound system
-Good cupboard and closet space
-Two external storage lockers
-Optional SUP/surf/ski racks on top
-Optional Stowaway 13cu ft storage box that converts into a cargo rack with bike carriers.
-Featured in AT&T Uverse Sports channel show about Stand Up Paddleboarding
-Removed the "Golden Girls" pink and turquoise decals (not an easy task)

Others:

-Front bumper slightly dented from someone backing into it
-Paint recently coming off a couple places on hood and fender (quoted $500 to repaint it, but haven't gotten around to it...too busy using the rig)
-transmission has a slight leak only when it's been sitting for more than a couple weeks. If driven regularly it doesn't leak. (been this easy since i bought it...just add 1/2 qt trans fluid at oil change)
-One obvious delam spot where someone swiped the left rear quarter in a parking lot in the last couple of months. Several repairs around the coach but everything is water tight...no leaks in the last three years.
-Dometic Americana refrigerator igniter stopped working in the last couple weeks, otherwise the refrigerator is cold and will stay running for two months on one tank of propane.
-12mpg exactly on the highway...price for having your house on wheels and a nice place to sleep every night.
-Pictures are of a recent clean and detail of the interior, but presently it is bring used daily and full of gear.

I liked it all expect for the fact it was a 6.0 and I've heard people have a lot of problems with them.

The van it's self was pretty clean, but it had your typical scuffs and dings. Most notable on the drivers side there was a scratch that that looked like maybe someone had keyed it and it ran the entire length of the van. I t was covered with one of the DIY dealer repair bottle kits so wasn't to noticeable but you could tell it was there.

One other cosmetic issue, it has barn doors on the side with no windows and looked like something had made a few dings from the inside, in the sheet metal where the window would normally be.

Overall it wasn't a bad van and I'm pretty sure they will work on the price but mileage was too high for me to try and get a loan and I wasn't fond enough of it having a 6.0 to try hard enough on a diffrent loan.

I looked at it over the weekend, but it's going to be too small for my needs. Overall it's in pretty good condition, and I don't think it's ever been stored outside. No stains on the soft walls, no rips or tears or anything. So far as I could tell everything works fine. Seller was really nice, and I thought the price was fairly low for a 2001 in good condition.

He has it in an F250 right now, so there's a platform under it, but it should fit any fullsize shortbox.

Hopefully it'll make someone a good camper.

Front and rear air conditioning units are particularly desireable for the Southwest. This is a wonderful van that has served us well and we hate to see it go.
