I added an ARE Top to the new Tacoma this week. I like ARE because I think the quality is pretty good and it's relatively secure. I will continue to post pictures of the MODs over the coming months.

Hey everyone, this will be my first post here after lurking for a little while.

I just recently purchased a 2011 Toyota Tundra Double Cab 4x4 4.6L with 7K miles for a killer price a few months ago. I moved up from a 2wd regular cab tacoma, so it's a little bit bigger and quicker:bike_rider: So far it has been great.

I will be using this thread as a general build thread and to post the trips that I will be taking. Some of the mods that will take place slowly over the next couple years include re-gearing for 35's, an Icon Suspension kit, ARB rear locker and lower profile rear and front bumpers.

For now though, after slapping on some stock size Nitto Terra Grapplers I decided to head out with the wife for some camping out in Los Padres National Forest. The destination in mind was the San Martin Top. It was a fun trip making it out and testing out the tundra's 4wd for the first time. It was nice, but I am looking forward to slapping a shell of some kind on the bed for a nice sleeping platform in the very near future.

Well, anyways I hope you guys enjoy, and stay for the slow buildup of everything.

Here are some pics from the trip.
One of my main motivations is to increase fuel economy and not have to buy premium gas. Basically I'm tired of my wallet screaming in rebellion every time I want to go on a climbing trip & every time my pager goes off for a rescue. Ive looked around the forum a bit but have not really seen a true consensus, so, what kind of MPG are people seeing on the hwy with there 4cyl 4x4s ?

I wish I could say I was new here, but I have been a member for about 4 years dreaming of the day that I could get an expedition worthy vehicle.

The day has come and I am proud to say I have gotten a 3rd gen Toyota 4runner- 1996. came with the factory e-locker, 16" wheel package. It has just about 172k miles on it and does need some general maintenance done before I can get to the really fun stuff of building it up.

It is my daily driver, but I definitely want to set it up to take my kids on adventures around Arizona and possibly further venturing out on 3-5 day tours of the bordering states (most likely use) some heavy rock trails, those of you that are familiar with Arizona trails can relate. I want to eventually pull a trailer with my gear, but it will have to all fit in the rig for now. I also hunt and take some harder journeys when I can get away with friends to challenge the rigs.

So I am probably a pretty typical case here, I need it to be functional but also capable when the time comes. I think the 4runner will fit the bill nicely with that.

First order of business was getting a K&N air intake, I was inspecting the spark plugs and moved the original air cleaner hose and it basically started cracking and breaking up on me. Old rubber I guess. Next is to change all the fluids in the diff and transmission. I know that's not always the best choice if I will be in water or mud, but hey it's AZ and rarely will that be the case even in the mountains.

Here's where the fun starts:

Part of the maintenance is the suspension. To be honest, it doesn't look like it's ever been done (rear sag like no other). I have done tons of research here and on other boards and I have narrowed my choices down to either a complete OME setup, or doing a combo OME with Bilstein shocks.

Anyone out there have run the 2nd choice combo and can comment on the preferred setup? If so which OME springs to use kind of knowing what I need?

I am also open to other suggestions on upgrades and maintenance things to look for or tackle first.

Look forward to being able to contribute to the forum and keep a build thread.

DISCLAIMER: I'm starting this thread on multiple forums to gather as much information as possible so I apologize if you've already seen this.

Hey bros, just picked up this 1985 4Runner 22REC with 130k on the original engine.

A little history behind it: I scoured the internet every night towards the end of my tour in Afghanistan looking for a great 4Runner. I saw the posting for this truck - which I thought was perfect - and contacted the owner but was deterred by the $6500 price tag. Also, it was in Mobile, AL, while I was in Nashville, TN.

But by the time I got home I still hadn't found what I was looking for and the truck was still listed on CL. So I sacked up and decided to take a leap of faith. I flew down to New Orleans, where the owner met me. The truck was definitely in great shape, but with a little wear and tear here and there. Most importantly though, it had been garage kept with absolutely no rust on the frame or body, except for a dime size bubble in the paint below the gas cap (of course).

I bought it for $5700, which I now believe was a high. I followed the owner home to Mobile to notarize the bill of sale (his mother was the official owner) and then I turned north and held her at a steady ~65mph for about 10 hrs. Absolutely no problems to speak of up to this point, except I had to have a new AC compressor installed for R134 (prior owner disclosed this), which was out of my scope of mechanic ability.

The previous owner added the visor, which he drilled into the frame (!) and added the original Toyota decals (although I believe that particular design was originally intended for the Pickups). He also added the running boards. On the inside (which is in awesome condition save a single rip in the driver's seat), he added some pioneer speaker in the rear, so I presume he cut into those panels. Otherwise she's bone stock.

I'm ready to start sinking some money in to the her, but I'm looking for guidance on which direction to take her. Originally, my plan was to build up a respectable expedition vehicle that I can use for a daily driver (the 22RE's MPG was a major buying point for me). My initial concern was all-bolt on additions, no permanent cutting/welding. I'm pretty much ready to pull the trigger on the Old Man Emu 2.5" heavy lift, but I'm getting caught up in finding the right front/rear bumpers. Pretty much all of my options involve at least cutting brackets, if not major welds to the frame. Part of me wants to say, "F- it, lets get crazy and make the beast how I want her." But part of me also says, "Whoa, If I put in a little bit of work and got her to a 'Restored' condition I could probably sell her for at least $8500 in CA (where I'm moving to in a 9 months)." And then I could buy another, cheaper 4Runner that I felt more comfortable cutting into. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?

So at this point these are the upgrades I'm considering most:
-OME 2.5" Heavy Lift
-33x10.5" or 285/75/16 (~32.8x11.2") Tires (leaning towards Toyo Open Country M/T)
-16" wheels
-Yukon 4.88 gears
-Marlin V6 IFS performance brake combo
-Custom front bumper (either CBI DIY or Badlands Baja/Basher)
-Custom rear swing out bumper. (Probably Badlands swing out).
-Softopper/bikini top

A few questions:

For those running the OME suspension, have you had to add Hysteer/adujustable drop drag link/custom pitman arm? Do you find any rubbing with 33's? I've been researching this for a hot minute and haven't found any definitive answer (including one from ARB).

Any advice is welcomed. Thanks guys -RL

Hey Guys-

I own a gray extended cab Taco. 2.7, 5 speed. Now that the stock tires are worn out I figure its time to start building it the way I want. I was parked last weekend and some a-hole backed into it and left. They dented the front bumper so I guess it's a good time for some front armor too.

Since I have the 4 cylinder I know I need to be aware of every pound of equipment I add. I was thinking about a tube style front bumper. Do any of you guys run these? I know trail gear offers one as does ArmorTech Offroad. I ts tough to find pictures of them installed though. I know most people run plate style bumpers, which I'm not opposed to, I was just trying to save weight and a little coin.

My worry is most tube bumper examples I've seen look really goofy with so much exposed on the front of the taco. So guys, which bumper do you run and why? Pictures help!

Thanks
Josh

Does anybody know if a Tacoma that doesn't come with a factory roof rack installed still have the mounting holes threaded under the black rubber rails? I did lift the black rubber rails and see where the holes should be under some sort of sealant tape. I didn't want to peel the tape back unsealing the holes to see if they were threaded. A guy wants a custom roof rack/basket made but I don't want to have to do any drilling into his roof to mount it. I'm hoping the factory mounting holes are there otherwise I'm not going to take on the job. Thanks portal for any insight!

I’m a very long time Expo Portal lurker and am hoping to put some of my knowledge learned to the test. This site and forum is a fantastic resource… and motivator.

General Summary:

The main driver for the build is a road trip through the US and Central America. Over the last couple of years my wife and I have talked about taking 3-6 months off and driving south, but we never really put a plan into motion. One day recently I sent an email to her mentioning how nice it would be sitting on the beach in Baja instead of staring at a computer screen at work.

Her single-line response was, “WHAT are we going to do to get there?” I’m going to build a truck, obviously. (This is the best excuse I’ve ever had for a project actually)

My daily driver is a 2000 Z71 Silverado and after putting about 160,000km on it over the last eight years I knew I’d be happier having a Toyota of some flavour as an expo rig. The Silverado is fantastic on road and eats up smooth North American highway kilometers for breakfast. Honestly, this would make a fine truck for the trip, but the reliability and hopefully inconspicuous nature of the Toyota brought me back to the import camp. The numerous Toyota Land Cruisers and Hilux’s we have seen on our adventures the last couple of years in South East Asia and the Middle East definitely swayed my bias as well. If these trucks (okay, Hiluxs…) can be beat on in the Wadi Rum desert with minimal maintenance and are still going with 500,000+ miles, then that’s enough for me.

My previous truck (before the Chevy) was a 1988 V6 4Runner that was my daily driver for five years. The 4Runner was great off road with a 3” body lift, 63” Chevy springs, 35” MT/Rs, and welded spiders in the rear. This eventually got a SAS, 302 and C4 before I ran out of funds and lost my shop space.

Why did I end up choosing a Toyota Pickup? Well, I guess it actually chose me. I was cruising Craigslist constantly hoping anything would come up in my budget. Okay, I didn’t really have a budget set at the time so I was really just looking for something that was a deal I couldn’t pass up. I searched for Toyota Pickups, 4Runners, Tacomas, 60 and 80 Series Land Cruisers. It seems as though anything with a Toyota badge sells as if it is made of gold in the Pacific North West. Finding one that I could “afford” was more difficult than expected.

Through a string of exceptionally good luck I was able to pick up a 1989 Toyota Pickup 22RE 5 speed from family for pretty much nothing. It didn’t pass AirCare (smog) and has some driveability issues and wasn’t worth the previous owners time to fix it. They bought a new Tacoma and I got the hand-me-down. Sounds like a perfect way to start for me!

This has to be a built on a budget and with a plan. I have dumped enough money into vehicles to know that I could be throwing away cash hand over fist if I don’t think this through. Keeping in mind I have spent almost no seat time in the truck at this point I’m aiming for a $3500 total budget (a totally arbitrary number to start with) before adding any accessories (tent, fridge, etc). Starting with a truck that didn’t cost me anything will help my cause and I should be able to get quite a bit done for that price as long as nothing major crops up. The little things will add up quickly so we’ll see how much can be done before we reach that magic number.

About the Truck:
1989 Toyota Pickup
22RE 2.4L
5 Speed

Overall the truck is is pretty good shape and a great starting point.

So I finally got around to installing the aftermarket head unit in my 2007 4runner. It's something I'd wanted to do for a while, since the factory unit is pretty basic (while it does have an audio input for an iPod, it does not have Bluetooth, nor a USB port, nor does it have RDS - Radio Data System - which most modern stereos have.)

I chose the Kenwood DPX500BT. I was going to get a unit with a touch screen and a backup camera, but ultimately I decided that wasn't something I 'needed' and the expense was too much.

I ordered it from Crutchfield, even though I have not installed a stereo in a car in years, because I'd heard so many good comments about how helpful they are in assisting people in installing their own stereos. Sure enough, I ran into a few difficulties but their excellent customer service reps talked me through it. So the head unit is installed and seems to work fine.

Except for one thing: AM reception is terrible. And by terrible I mean virtually non-existent. Even in the middle of the city I can barely get a powerful station that I sometimes listen to.

Now, FM seems to work very well and the other features work fine, too.

I understand the 4th gen has two "in-glass" antennas in the rear side windows, one is for AM and one is for FM. But I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to improve my AM reception. I don't listen to AM a lot when I'm at home, but when I'm traveling I like to at least have the capability because it's not unusual in the great expanses of the West to be outside of FM range (FM is Line-of-Sight, while AM is not and at night AM will bounce off the upper layer of the atmosphere and back to earth, allowing you to listen to AM broadcasts from hundreds of miles away if the atmospheric conditions are right.)

Because weather and news are often on AM, I consider it important to be able to at least "stay informed" by having some access to AM.

I've seen discussion on other boards basically saying that manufacturers are cutting corners on the AM receiver portion of a head unit, but I find that a little hard to believe - after all, it's not like it's difficult. I'm just wondering if there's something I did when hooking up the unit to compromise my AM capability.

There were two wires with plugs that plugged into the back of my factory head unit. One of them went to the AUX plug that is in the center console, the other one was (presumably) the antenna. I tried plugging both of them in but one of them was way too small to "lock" in, and I presumed that was the AUX cable. The other one fit snugly and I pressed it in as far as it would go.

The fact that I have FM seems to indicate to me that I have a good antenna connection, so I'm stumped. Any ideas? Anyone else have AM RX problems with an aftermarket head unit?

Thanks in advance! :ylsmoke:

I can't seem to find any info on the 'inter-webs' so I am hoping you guys could answer what might be a total noob question.

Why are some t-case shifters the j pattern with no button on the side and why do other Tacomas have the other style? I can't seem to find any rhyme or reason as to which models came with which shifters. Also, are there any reasons to lean more toward one over the other?

Thanks a ton!

Currently the 1998 Limited has a new 99/bilstein front and OME 906 rear suspension, 265/75/16 BFG A/T's with plenty of tread, rear storage drawers, ARB front bumper and CBI rear.
Some upgrades I could use: sliders, cb radio, possible ipad for nav, roof top tent?

Please let me know if you guys have any opinions, as its a tough choice!

I recently notice the rear of my tacoma sagging. Its not noticeable when I park in my driveway because its on an incline but when I park in a flat spot it's very clear to me.
The rear sits lower then the front.

Few specs of my rig.

The "lift" was on the truck when I bought it so I'm not totally sure what it is but I believe its a spacer up front and an add a leaf in the rear.

I always planed to swap out to a OME later down the road when funds proved that opportunity.

I do have a flatbed on the rear of my rig but its all aluminum and weighs quite a bit less then the stock bed.

I did recently haul 1200lbs of concrete but it wasn't very far and after inspection I don't see any cracked springs.

I am planning on moving soon and would be hauling a fully loaded truck with a trailer. Should I just switch to the OME Dakar CS047R Rear Leaf Springs with the heavy packs
or should I think about airbags?

Suggestions?

I figure I could start a bit of a build thread for my 4Runner.

First a bit of info. I was looking for a new wheeling rig for some time now and I wanted something with a removable top. That right there limits my choices quite a bit. I had a 1984 Toyota pickup previously and I quite enjoyed it, so I figure it wouldn't hurt to have a 4Runner and be able to use some of my leftover spare parts.

So throughout my year or so of watching classifieds and asking the odd person, I finally stumble upon a 1988 4Runner with a V6, 5 speed, 3" body lift, 2" blocks/spacers, 2 sets of 33" tires and a soft top! I have to admit, the soft top was what caught my attention the most. It looked great in the pics and it's a lot more versatile than the fibreglass top in the summer.

This is one of the pics from the classified as:

So I had to go and see it. Took it for a short test drive, and let's just say I kinda fell in love with it!

This is the day after I got it home:

It even has a pretty clean interior, and not missing any major pieces! In fact, it came with the factory cover for the sun roof and a small trouble light that plugs into an outlet on the driver's side.

It was riding on the winter tires when I picked it up, but it also came with these bad boys in 33x12.5:

Hello, I am Ryan. I just purchased a 1985 4Runner. I paid $400 for the 4Runner; it is missing the 22re engine, hood, and title. I know who the last owner of the 4Runner is and he is willing to cooperate with me on getting a title for it. As for the engine and hood I am currently making a deal with another gentlemen on acquiring a second 1985 4Runner to use as parts. I am no stranger to the Nevada wilderness as I have been lost many times and walked for hours without a clue as to where I was. I have also driven for weeks in the back country without seeing anyone until I returned to a paved road/civilization. I have spent most of my time in the Nevada back country with my father and uncle on ATV's. I decided to purchase the 1985 4Runner because i am not able to afford a newer Jeep Unlimited Rubicon. The 1st generation 4Runner, especially the 1985 with factory solid axles, is very adaptable and suitable for the Nevada outback. My plans for the 4Runner include obtaining: a rooftop tent, awning, 35s, armor, winch, small water tank with a hose for showers, and other camping gear/vehicle modifications.

This is my 4Runner, she is not pretty and needs a lot of work.

Where the 4Runner sat for two years.
Unloading it off the trailer, this was a major pain due to the blown out tires. I attached a come along to the fence post and winched it off. (Once again my friend helping me out.)

So for the past month of driving, I've been getting a funny rattle while driving. The truck is a 2005 2.7 tacoma with a 5 speed. Anyways, I get the rattle only while moving at 2000-2500rpm and when I let off the throttle to slow down or shift. I can't duplicate the sound while sitting still at any rpm. If I press the clutch and try to keep it at that RPM while it's rattling, it tries to go away but sometimes I can keep it going. A few months ago my power steering pump had a squeal and i had the throw out bearing squeak as well, but both of those seem to have gone completely. There isnt any play in my power steering pump but the idler pully has a little bit. I pulled the belt off and drove up the road and back and still have the rattle. Doesnt appear to be any loose body work and my CV's don't seem to have any play either. Any ideas? Right now i'm eaither keeping the RPM lower or higher than that 500rpm window and it doesnt have the rattle at the 60mph I normally cruise at. I'm going to try to find a videoscope and pull the valve cover off and inspect the guides, but I want to avoid changing the chain if at all possible, seeing as the FSM suggests pulling the engine.

Well my '87 Toyota Pickup 4x4 xtracab was stolen from outside my house in Newbury Park last Friday. I loved this truck, it was my first and I haven't had enough time to get to do what I've wanted with it yet. If anybody sees it around please please report it to the police and notify me. It's a tan xtracab 4x4 that had a white skillcraft (out of business) camper shell with a National Forest Adventure Pass on the rear window, also the rear passenger slider had been broken and replaced with plexiglass and its pretty obvious, pretty much everything else was stock. Also the bumpers were missing the endcaps and there is no TOYOTA decal on the tailgate. Inside was nothing special except I had built a custom rear storage cabinet in the xtracab.
Thanks Peter

Afternoon all. I hope someone can shed some light on this issue.

I have a 2008 UK spec Hilux HL3 Invincible and need to get a 2nd battery into the engine bay to power an Engel fridge in the tub via a split charge. It would seem that the space exists in the engine bay (over the wheel arch) and there are captive nut fixings but the actual carrier is not installed. The Toyota main dealer is clueless and here in the UK everyone seems to offer Land Rover carriers but nothing for a Hilux?

I would be grateful for anyone's wisdom? ARB evidently do one but I am still awaiting a reply from Arbil (UK distributor) and am not holding my breath.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

-- Best, in your opinion, heavy ply 30x10.5x15 tires. Our rocks are like razors. Our mud is not normally too sticky.
The truck has 368,000km on a second engine. Not sure how much on the engine. 3.0 IFS, not looking to change anything there.

Hello Everyone,

First post here, but I've been trolling around for a while. I am very much a beginner when it comes to these things; I have been connecting with some locals and I think I'm ready to do some small expeditions.

I own a 2009 Tacoma, Access cab, 4x4 Off Road, with ~111,000 (I drive this truck everywhere and I try to avoid flying if I can). I was thinking of replacing my stock suspension with something that will give me a small lift and improve performance. The OME kit with rear leafs is exactly within my budget and level of intended use.

My question is, I plan on eventually getting the ARB front bumper, but I don't know how soon/late that will be. I know that it is recommended to get the 886 coils, however without the bumper is ride too stiff. Will the 885 coils be too soft when I get the ARB?

From what I have read, the 884 are for the access cab, 885 are for double cab, and the 886 are for a winch bumper. I just want to avoid the added expense and time of replacing the coils. I also tow a lot so would I need to get the add a leaf for the OME leafs?

My current mods to the truck are:

• Snugtop Supersport Shell
• Weds Adventure Hase Spec 16x8 +0
• Nitto Terra Grappler 265/75/16
• BAMF weld on rock sliders
(Some other cosmetic mods like a color matched bumper and grill. Overall mostly stock.)

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I've googled and all I'm finding is the C.O. tray all over the place. I've thought of placing one battery right near the air intake on the left hand side but it looks like it wont fit. Has anyone done the home brew side of this? or is there another location that I haven't thought of that would be good?
thanks in advance.

I have been perusing the threads in this forum for quite some time to get some ideas for my 4runner. There is lots of great info and write-ups here and i look forward to getting my rig going so i can join you guys on the trails.

Approx 6 months after i bought the truck the headgasket blew, at that time i swapped in a new long block. After the install it ran great for about a month then developed a backfire through the intake. Diagnosed as a rounded camshaft lobe. Had the cam replaced and she is back up an running and it gave me the motivation i needed to start getting it outfitted.

I will start by posting a pic of my 1987 4runner 4x4 22re auto when i bought it 2 yrs ago.

Hi all,

I wanted to share what I have been dealing with at my local dealership as of recent.

Context:
The truck. 2012 Tacoma Regular Cab 2.7 five speed 4x4
the " mods"
ARE MX topper with racks
stock size Hankook Danapro ATM's 10 ply Bought after blowing out two of the dungflops after only 5000 miles, both in one week
Current miles 17,500

I bought this truck brand new in july of last year with only a few miles on the clock. The truck replaced a 2012 Subaru that just was not cutting it in terms of room, clearance, towing power, and ability.
I was pretty pissey with the tires that came with the truck but there was nothing that I could do about it. Even more pissed when I had to replace them only two months into owning the truck.

Needless to say after that I went from Aug of last year to about febuary of this year, LOVING my truck, loving the fact that Toyota took care of all the service for the first 25 k miles over all very pleased with my purchase, and more then willing to fork over my truck payment every month

And then, my ordeal started.

At the start of Feb, I had my truck in for its fifteen thousand mile service. That inculded a tire rotation. The second I got back in my truck and drove it away, I noticed that at highway speed I had a nice wobble/ viberation going on. At this point I was well away from the dealer and knew that there was nothing that they could do that day anyways.

So I took it home and ingored it for a few days. I told my self, its still the dead of winter, perhaps there is a bunch of mud/ ice packed in the wheels, that is what it felt like. There was, I do after all live in north idaho up a muddy dirt/ rock/ snow mountain road.

so a few days later I took it to a bay and pressured washed the hell out of it. that helped, but the problem did not go away.

Needless to say I had to do something. But I did not want to go to the dealership.
Parker Toyota, in Coeur D' Alene Idaho is a 130 mile round trip from my house, it is the closest dealership and thus service center and warrenty center for me.
I figured, it will cost me that in gas to get there and back to I took it to a local shop and had them balance the tires.

Didnt fix a thing ...
Damn, So I called up the Dealership the next day and let them know what was going on and booked an Appt, they didn't have anything for almost a week.

I went down having done extensive research on what it could be.
I spent three hours there and all they did was balance my tires, so much for my siggestion to check out U joints drive line etc.

Get back in the truck drive away, same thing happens, wheel is shaking, truck is viberating going down the road.

Call the dealership back up, they say they dont have any more time today and that I will have to come back to the service center... in another week, of course. Well, what choice did I have?

Needless to say I was back, this time I was there for about four hours, working with another service rep and mechanic for a " warrenty repair "

they tell me they cant find anything, they blame my ties saying that these trucks do that and that it was partialy caused by the noise of the tires partialy caused by me having a light truck, with a 10 ply tire on it.

I asked them if they had swapped the tires off another truck to prove this theory, they said no, I asked what tire it was or what the problem was they said they didnt know, I asked them if they could 100 percent confirm that it was the tires. they said no. They informed me that my vibration was normal for these trucks and that it had been test driven and inspected and was good to go....
Got back in the truck..... NO CHANGE

I was really pissed at this point and running out of time, I had to go out of state for work and didnt have any more time to mess with it. So another two weeks go by, I go to seattle for work and then come back, the whole time I was on the highway it wobbling away.

Then, I get a cute little email from toyota asking me to compleate a survey on my dealership experience. I RIP into them..

Several days later, for no reason at all my ABS, and traction control light come on, my break lights stop working and my ABS is down .

This got me calling up the dealership AGAIN
talked with the same guy, set up a date and he mentioned " I got your survey, so while your hear I want to look into that problem again"

So, I showed up at 830 am on monday morning, sit there ALL day,
I go for THREE test rides with the tech, first was to show him the problem was still there, second was with a new set of rims and tires off another tacoma on the lot.... the stuck is still having the problem even with NEW tires.... it let the tech know that I had tried to have this done almost two months ago to no avail.
He asked me if I wanted to wait around while he yanked my drive shaft. I sad just FIX IT.
he yanks the shaft and we go for a ride AGAIN this time just running front wheel drive since there was no back shaft in, truck, improves finallllllly

He told me that my drive shaft had SEVEN or eight ballance weights on it instead of the standard two or four, and that it had come that way from the factory.

Needless to say, the shaft got set off to rebalance, I got sent home in a RAV4 and this problem is still not solved
pick it back up tomorrow.

The tech mentioned to me that this was the third truck that he had seen with this problem, and that he had to jump through all of these hopps just to let him do this. and that Toyota knew about this crap and they were still trying to pass it off as on a 20 ish MPH problem with their TSB

Any one else have a problem like this

we shall see what happens, I can not WAIT to get out of the RAV4... although the 30 mpg is nice.
cheers
