Just retired and got a 19 ft Airstream and 2003 Land Cruiser. I am looking forward to doing some travel and exploring in the Pacific Northwest, California and Mountain States over the next several years. The LC is stock and is in meticulous condition (85K miles). It was owned by a pilot who took meticulous care of the vehicle. I could use some advice on some of the basics to consider to upgrade the LC for some simple off road adventures. Suspension, winch, anything else that some experienced folks would advise when just starting out. Not ready to go overboard, need to get a bit of experience in the outdoors, but willing to do what is necessary. Any recommendations welcome. Lastly, have been searching on line for modification shops in the Seattle area without much luck. Do you recommend using a dealer to install any add ons? I am not mechanically inclined and cannot due this kind of work myself. Thanks.
