hello not sure how I missed your trip report bt really love it; I myself am planning a similar trip in summer 2013 but using the east coast then thru texas and on to utah (moab). Question for ya is that you mention several times that you were on private property when trying to find a camp site; how can yo tell if you are on private property etc. thanks bunch for posting your trip report!
