Good stuff ! :)
Well now, that's just not true.
It can't handle 99% of the trails west of the Mississippi - nor east of for that matter.
Ironically, Vince - the rigs owner - sold his sweet 92 Mk2 16v GLi to buy the rover & really wanted a red or white G.
In the above post I posted the trails they were taken on.
As for the first...
Correct sir!
What trails are you guys running ?
All of the rover pics were out at TSF - I think it's the best place in the area & have been Biking, riding, shooting, hiking & wheeling out there...
Thanks - definitely more to come !
The owner is in Portland as well - we'll be making trips out to TSF & HooDoo soon enough. :ylsmoke:
Aaaand, with heads & turns - still waiting on the trim rings from RoversNorth.
He's gonna put the front flare, front mud flap thingy back on - to further it's stock appearance.
...
Then we decided to flex it out abit - it's gonna need some help in that department, haha! ;

And, his freestanding light bar. This may end up being tied into a roof rack / rub bar arraignment . . .

Mount & fender transition....
Moving around to the front - we knew the front fenders wouldn't survive in stock form & were prohibitively expensive to replace - so Vince (the owner) opted for Defender ' trophy" style fenders.
...
Gas Tank was definitely in need of some up-armouring after its ill fated first venture :D You can see it's tied into the rear bumper.

We dropped it off at Those guys rods & Customs up in Bremerton. He has done a slew of work to my rig & decided, since he was particularly well versed in XJ's - he would be the right guy to fab some...
Thought I would start a thread here as well.
This is my buddies rig, but he isn't the forum hound I am :sombrero:
It'll be a recreational wheeling / camping / hunting / DD rig - I myself fancy for...
Awesome !!! :wings:
Just called - yes you can buy just the tub. Right about $800 for the tub, another $190 for the lid & he said about $300 to ship it to the west coast, so $1300-ish to my door. He said the Tub weights...
Nice !!!
I'd feel comfortable beating on one of these.
I wonder if I could buy just the tub, no frame, axle, tires nor wheels - all of which I'd junk anyhow. May actually be feasible then.
I personally would want 3"-4" of tire protruding, to keep it off of trail obstacles.
But, then I'm likely in the minority - as I'd actually wanna drag my junk through the same trails I wheel. ...

Sorry to hear about your woes :-(
Eager to hear how this goes.

Emissions.
The 4.0 is a legend.
The V6 is an inferior motor, IMO.
You could buy an 2.4ltr (not 2.5) SE TJ & swap on an SRT4 Manifold, turbo & ecu. For all intents & purposes, it's the same...
Awesome!
How about a friggin' Hemi already !?! :ylsmoke:
Fixed.
Bloody Sweet!
