Another RTT thread!?!?

I am spending way too much time cruising nets looking for tents.
I have a few questions that you guys can answer way more quickly
than I can by cruising the internets.

I am looking for family of 4 tent to go on a trailer.
it needs fully enclosed changing room that allows you
to climb from changing room into tent without going outside.
the changing room should be big enough to possibly
sleep two people in. anybody have an idea which one does this?

Do all RTT tents have a rain fly? Does the rain fly have to be set up
after tent is put up or is it pre-attached?

Thanks for your time.

Hi Memcruiser,
sounds like you may need something like the tourer-style RTT which Howling Moon invented and many others copied. This style will allow the space you're looking for in the lower annex to sleep 2 people, The Howling Moon annex is over 7ft x7ft.. One thing to consider is that every tourer style tent will require your trailer to be at least a certain height, otherwise there simply is not enough space for the annex to hang from the RTT. Trailers are not ideal in this way, as you'd need the mounting platform to be at least 6ft high. What about getting a specific trailer tent? Loads of space and more conducive to the likely height it will be mounted.

Most RTT's have the rain fly already mounted and they certainly should be included in the price. The fly automatically opens with the rest of the tent.

I know the trailers are usually lower than the roof of suv but I can weld some arms and supports to get the height where I want it. I could then put canoe or kayak under it.

What brand tent is that in above post? Answered my own question I think.

Is that an ARB Simpson 3?

back to square one

I thought ARB Simpson III was going to
work but apparently the annex is not made
with a floor anymore. I spoke with ARBUSA
yesterday and the said no more floor on this
years model annex. can anybody confirm
this for me?
