A nice mix of cruisers

Except for the two that are NOT 'Cruisers...

Yeah, yeah, hate me now. I have had my time in FJ Crappers. Don't care for them, and they are mini vans with a front 'shaft.

They are sold as cruisers and your Lexus was not.

No, they are sold as "FJ Cruisers", not LAND CRUISERS. And despite the difference in logos attached to the body work, the Lexus 450 and 470 are just rebadged Land Cruisers. The FJ Cruiser is its own body etc. But thanks for trying. I'm not saying you can't like the FJ Cruiser, I'm just saying they are not a Land Cruiser. Neither is a Taco or Hilux, but I have owned and loved both.

I understand that a Lexus is a rebadged cruiser. Just dont understand the hate on the fj, it is a light duty cruiser. Not that fj cruiser owners care, it just seems that a lot of "land cruiser" owners are a little holier than thou when comparing their rides to others.

There's not really a "hate on" for the FJC, but I have spent quite a bit of time driving both a stock and modded FJC both on and off road. My biggest issue is that Toyota didn't make it into what they COULD have. It is essentially another body on a Taco or 4runner type chassis. There is nothing amazing about them on or off pavement. I had hopes for more.

I just think when the first prototype was announced, they were hyping it as a rebirth of the 40 series, which it is not. It has more in common with the Sienna than a 40! For the most part, that is a good thing. 40s would not sell well beyond the enthusiast market. That might be true of 70s as well, but the 76 can be had nicely blinged up, with a V8 or D4D in most other parts of the world. I guess I am still disappointed that we weren't offered that platform instead.

Now, let's get back to our regularly scheduled Land Cruiser porn!

That is because the prototype (retrotype?) they used to build up the hype was an FJ45LV on a 100 Series V8 Chassis, hype they got :D

I was able to drive that vehicle, one of my favorite 'dream cruisers' :D

Don't tell my wife that. She'll eat your liver with fava beans and a fine chianti.:chowtime:

Solid locking rear axle, boxed frame, manual transfer case Sienna. OK I'm done interupting the regularly scheduled "land cruiser" porn!

I'm sure that's next!:). And I was referring to the interior amenities and civility versus the 40 series I daily drove for 8 years +/-.

Just for interest sake, do you own, or have you driven a 80 or 100 series and/or an FJC? Just curious as you don't mention anything in your sig.
