Yeah, you'd need a receiver with sideband option. And since we're not putting out a ton of power you'd be hard pressed to hear us without an outside antenna. On my Grundig SWR I still have a hard time hearing even the closest stations with just the antenna jilt into the radio.

Hmmm..., I never had that problem when I joined but it was a long time ago. Let me check with the moderators/administrators there and get back with you guys.

Checked with the administrator at 4x4ham.com and Finlay (WO9N) is correct; you have to post in the Introductions before you are allowed to post elsewhere. i.e., respond with an introduction in the auto-generated welcome thread. It's only a spam-avoidance mechanism. If you still can't post after doing that, let me know.
