Abandoned Mine-Sierra's

My Dad & I came across this place while deer hunting 22 years ago. I fell in love with the place, and have been camping here ever since I was 16. I have watched the place change over the years, due to visitors who like to destroy our history. I have searched the internet & talked to the local historical society about this place, but I have yet to find any history on this mine.

It seems over the last few years, more and more people have found this mine. Mostly due to the forest service clearing the brush for the first mile once you turn off the main road. It's pretty well visible now.

Anyways, here's a few pictures I took while I was up there today. Note: I have never been able to get in here in April before. Its usually snowed in until the end of May.

I can see why you go back, it looks like a great teip back in time. Would you be willing to share the general area it is in?

I would like to check this place out.

I have been going to Mono Hot Springs in the Sierras yearly for about 10-15 years now myself. Love the area and explored many of the unpaved roads up there are well. Where exactly is it near Dinkey Creek? How far off road you have to take the trail?

Looks like a great place. The entire area around Shaver Lake is a lot of fun. Many trails for exploring. Wish we had happened across this when we were there a few years ago.
