    Default Interesting product: Drop Slide

I got my latest Australian 4WD Action (No.114) this week and I came across what I think is a great idea! Check this out, it's a fridge/freezer slide that also drops down:

Not cheap (when is good gear cheap), especially with the current exchange rate and rising shipping costs, but it might be something for one of the expedition outfitters out there to consider carrying (hint, hint)!

    Anyway, I thought it'd share.

    Cheers!

    That's slick!

I am actually thinking about changing my drawer arrangement and the fridge is a big reason

    That is a nice arrangement.

I don't think there is a big enough market to make it worth while importing the slides, especially at US$ 389.00 before shipping, import duty, and retailers mark up. I'd imagine they'd have to retail here for something in the $450.00 range.

When we buy our US made fridge slides we have to purchase a minimum of 50 per order, so there is a lot of money invested in inventory. To do the same for the Drop Slide would mean an investment of around $19,000.00 If you look at the number of people who have portable fridges, and then the number of people with portable fridges who place them on top of rear storage units, your potential pool of customers is really very small.

I'll check our US suppliers and see if there is anything similar available here.
