Expedition Leader
Acer has announced the Iconia A1 tablet. It has a wide 7.9 inch screen, similar to the iPad Mini's, and a price like the Nexus 7. An 8GB model will cost $169, and $199 for 16 GB of storage.

Like the iPad Mini, the A1 will offer a 3G data modem as an option. No price for the 3G option just yet. The 3G model will certainly include an A-GPS chip. It's not clear if the WiFi-only models will have GPS.

The Acer Iconia A1 should ship in about a month. The next few weeks will also see the delivery of the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, and the announcement of the successor to the Nexus 7. Interesting times!
