Northern New Mexico in August

Planning a week long trip to northern new mexico and SW colorado with my brother and father the first couple weeks in August. Wondering how the small stream fishing would be and if there are dispersed camping opportunities in the area.
We would also be interested in overnight backpacking to remote locations or access

There is some great remote back country streams in northern New Mexico. Rugged canyons to meadow creeks, take your pick. Plenty of camping options. Grab a topo map and do some research and you should find many options.
