Samsung announcements June 20

Expedition Leader
Samsung held a press "event" in London today to introduce the products the Korean manufacturer plans to deliver over the next several months. The list is staggering. Here are the items that caught my attention.

Laptops

ATIV Book 9 Plus
13.3 inch, 3200x1800 touchscreen
Intel Haswell Core i5 processor
up to 8 GB RAM, 256 GB flash storage
12 hour battery life
Magnesium alloy case (dark grey)
3 lbs

ATIV Q
same as ATIV Book 9 Plus, with three additions
Screen can slide down and cover the keyboard, creating a tablet
can boot Android or Windows, share files between OS
[edit: the system always boots Windows. Android runs in a virtual machine window]
S Pen stylus
available in time for back to school

ATIV Book Lite
13.3 inch, 1366x768 touchscreen
unspecified 1.4 GHz quad core processor

All-in-One computers (think iMac)

ATIV One 5 Style
Windows 8, 21 inch screen, 1920x1080, touch enabled
processor unspecified
price and availability unknown

Tablets

ATIV Tab 3
Windows 8 tablet, only 8 mm thick, Intel Atom processor, 2 GB RAM, 1366x768 screen resolution, S-Pen stylus,. Expected to ship in August with Windows Home & Office suite and keyboard cover, price $700.

Phones

Galaxy S4 Active
Similar to popular S4, 5 inch screen, but water, dust and shock proof. Available now from ATT, $200 with 2 year contract

Galaxy S4 Mini
Now "mini" means a 4.3 inch screen. This phone's specs are similar to last years flagship Galaxy S3 (dual core processor, 8 megapixel camera, etc). No price or USA availability info was announced.

Galaxy S4 Zoom
S4 Mini with a 10x zoom camera lens on the back side. Works as a phone as well.

Cameras

Galaxy NX
20 megapixel APS-C sensor, interchangeable lenses, 4.8 inch LCD touchscreen, runs Android OS, connects to 3G and LTE cell networks, WiFi and Bluetooth. No price or availability.

Services

HomeSync Lite
Web-based software that links Samsung computers, tablets and phones, enabling file sharing for pictures, movies, music and documents. A PC acts as the server. Storage can be private, or read/write. Example: A family wants to share movies of new baby with relatives in other cities. Example: Samsung phone owner wants to retrieve docs created on home computer. (Yes, there are third party applications that do this today. Samsung thinks it's worth making part of its basic PC software suite.)
