What is a good price for a F-250 used front axle?

I am looking for a front axle to start my conversion. Some of the deals on fleabay are around $600 shipped in ok condition. The axle will be gone through anyway.

But I think there is a place near my camp that is selling them for $400-500. Not sure.

What is a decent price for a used axle? I just don't want to overpay for a axle that I will be rebuilding anyway.

Thanks,

James

I've bought them for $250, I've bought them for $1000. I would say a good price is 6-800 for a complete core.

I would get a Dana 60. Some F250s came with the Dana 50, which has a Dana 44 gear set... My brother has a F250 with the 7.3 liter, and blew his front axle out by just hitting the brakes, while idling the truck in gear, when stuck in a snowbank... He got a D60 installed for $600. I paid $800 for my D60, which I could have got cheaper if I shopped around. $600 shipped is a good price, imo.

Shop around and do not be afraid to haggle on the price as these are not rare parts. I just bought a front and rear (Dana 60 and 10.5 with 4.30 gears) for $600 from a yard. $400 to $500 for a front axle (Dana 60) should be very doable with a bit of effort.

That's a pretty good deal. If I lived closer I would jump on it. I'm just 2500 miles away.

I found a great place near me that sells some good stuff. The same place I found my F150 seats.
