2ND GEN 4RUNNERS

I bought 2 95's in the past 6 weeks.

The white one is 4*4 with 3vz/auto.
It's the new "shop project" and camping rig. New OME suspension w/ SODI bj spacers, and Toytec wheel spacers. I bought it with 180k and a blown hg. Got it back together and SURPRISE; rod knock. :( So now it's getting a shortblock too. Yay. No 3.4 swap for now, maybe later. Too much going on at the shop.

2wd 3.0/auto w/ 143,000 never been opened up. I bought it as a parts car last Wed and drove it home with the AC blowing cold. Needs tuning up and a bath, but now I'm thinking it may just be a beater car as I can't bring myself to cut it up just yet. Or a SAS swap down the road. Rear housing is bent so I bought a stripped one from the junkyard for $150 to swap in and make it driveable.

Very nice rigs. That's too bad about the rod knock.

Yeah, I've got a 3vz out of a T100 lined up from a local yard to send out.

We're buying a house so I sold my 08 Silverado, I'm planning on a Ujoint van and the white 95 runner for my personal/shop rigs.

My new 94 and my old roof chopped 95

That red chopped 95 is AWESOME!!! If my wife (and I) didn't love sleeping in the back of the truck so much with our typical NW weather I think I might just do that to my 95 Diesel build. That's by far the cleanest version of that chop I've ever seen aye. Any chance there's a build thread on it somewhere where I could drool over it a wee bit more??? You're also making me think REALLY hard about running the old "4-spoke" wheels on my truck too... I've got nice old, hard to find AR (forged) 5-spokes that are on my 1st gen and I thought I was gonna swap over to the new truck but those OEM rims look so good on the 95 that I just started thinking that maybe some flat black on them would be the way to go... HMMMMMMM.

Either way, loving seeing all these 2nd Gen's cause While I prefer the LOOKS of the 1st Gen 4Runners/2nd Gen PU's, having owned a 1st Gen 4Runner now for near on 10 years, I can honestly say that the 2nd Gens have some serious benefits over the 1st Gens depending on your needs, esp. for expo type builds where those back doors can save a LOT of crawling around on your hands and knees to get into the truck... I'm really excited to be building one aye.

I'll have to dig through my files for some of my favorite KZN130's (aka 2nd Gen Hilux Surfs) cause I have some really neat ones that I've savd pics of for ideas when it finally comes time to build armor and put the "kit" on the outside of my own build...

Wow that chopped 95' looks amazing ! It looks like it came stock like that from Japan .... Nice work .

I KNOW right?!?!?!?! I've seen that chop done a LOT (esp. on Yota(sketchy)Tech but that is by FAR the cleanest I've ever seen aye... It really does look nearly factory, I can't get over how great and detailed a job he did. Now I wanna see more of it from every angle

That's a sweet looking 90 you've got yourself there aye. Mines gonna be a slightly lower, slightly less hardcore version of yours in build concept as I'm going to an SFA as well but using stock 84/85 replacement OME springs up front and converted the rear to OME leafs as well. Love the truck mate, looks like a beaut aye.

Cheers

Dave
