For the camping I do for leisure (as opposed to my work) I've been using a little jump start pack to run fluro lights off of. It worked really well until I tried to jump start off it one day... It was only a 10A SLA battery apparantly!
Anyways after I destroyed it, I needed something to replace it, but I couldnt find one anywhere near as cheap (got it on clearance)
I'd pretty much given up hope, and I was thinking about replaceing the wireing and battery in my old lil jump starter, or makeing up a box with an SLA in it, until I saw this thingy in a shop today
Its 10amps of SLA (2 batteries) in a plastic case, with a pair of cigarette sockets, a USB power socket for ipods etc, and a little 200w inverter. Now I'm no noob, and I know that an inverter isnt going to run for long off a couple of SLA batteries, but its also set up to hook up to the car whilst running the inverter
I got the whole lot for $39 and the cheapest jump starter was around $50 so i reckon I've gotten a bargain - even if its some little modified sine wave inverter, its still going to be useful some day probably
I'll try for a pic if anyone wants to see it
