Check out the xproheli for a "cheaper" alternative. Has GPS and the new one coming out has a built in gyro. Very nice quadcopter.

Thanks for the suggestion, our red epic requires a heavy lift rc heli due to its weight and need to get the most stable shots. High end equipment comes with high end costs.. we've narrowed down a bunch of shots we can shoot from the door on a full size helicopter which will save us costs in the end. A few like the hell-lapse shots we have planned require the big nose mount gyro's that are very expensive.
