Here's my 15 ram 2500 CTD tradesman
We've had it since last july and have been steadily building it and enjoying it, It works so well on those long freeway runs then head into the woods or where ever else you want to go.
Here's what we have so far, the next project is the interior of the shell with storage, lighting and internal bracing for a roof rack.
Carli pintop system with sway bar
37" Toyo mt on Method NV
Synergy steering box brace
4.56 gears
ARB lockers F&R
1/4" plate diff cover
ARB twin compressor
Mercinary bumpers F&R
Warn m12000 with synthetic line
Leer shell

Got to love the MercenaryOffroad.com bumpers. I have been eyeballing the rear wrap around bumper for some time

What is your average range for a tank with the 4.56 and 37s?
I don't have an exact number for you but....
It was the 37s that hurt my millage which dropped to 12ish from 15-16 (stock, but it was only stock for 1500 miles). I didn't notice much change when I did the re gear and lockers.
My rpm is 2000 at 78-80 mph.
I live in the sf bay area so its almost always city driving but when going to the Tahoe area (200 miles and 7000 ft elevation uphill) it looks to be about half a tank (30 gallon tank)

Haven't seen mine in 5 years. It's been patiently waiting in storage for me to finish with the military and go to my last home. A buddy sent me a pic of it today... sure miss that truck. 99 cummins 2500, 5sp, 4x4. Needs some front end steering love and the lost 5th gear found, but it only has 125k and not a chip in the dash or leather seats.
And since it spent most it's life in New Mexico, zero rust.

They won't crack down on individuals, but on shops and vendors.

"Authorities are now using the sensors in and around Denver and in a few other states as a supplement to conventional testing. The state sets up the sensors at highway on-ramps and elsewhere along the road. Drivers don't stop. They just roll between two rows of cones while a camera records the car's license plate and the equipment registers the emissions from the tailpipe, and go on their way. If a car produces at least two passing grades, the driver is spared the trip to the inspection station." https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...missions-tests-actually-make-the-air-cleaner/

"Nevada will be putting the sensors along its roads in the coming years."

The green box you see in this link needed a step-van to haul it around a few years ago. http://wtop.com/sprawl-crawl/2016/01/virginia-offers-new-roadside-emission-testing-option/ You will notice who pay$ in the article as well. When these sniffers can be hung on a freeway info signpost then the Feds will likely announce their nationwide deployment. It will be the beginning of the end for the "deletes", at least as we know them today.

The Feds could also threaten to withhold highway monies to states/jurisdictions that do not inform other jurisdictions that one of their registered vehicles failed a random roadside emissions test. But that sort of 'coordination' could be years away if the past is any indicator for the future...."Drivers who have their vehicles registered outside of the region will not receive letters, regardless of whether they passed or not."

For yet another example how not to do something: https://www.bar.ca.gov/consumer/roadside_inspection_program.html

Today you may still be able to delete away your 'troubles' where you live now, but you may need to be careful about where you move to in the future if you want to keep your rig ... http://larimer.org/vehiclelicensing/vehemiss.htm

What does a delete 'window' closing sound like? Like this: https://dmv.ny.gov/inspection/diesel-inspections-emission-testing

Volkswagen notwithstanding, the trend toward "tamper-proof" chips is probably inevitable. Tamper-proofs will delete the Delete 'problem' for the Feds when that technology is combined with miniaturized random roadside emission testing units along the Interstates. My guess is the fines will be onerous and unbeatable in court without spending more money than the vehicle in question is probably worth.

*shakes head in dismay*.... sad statement of just how fat big brother has become. Misplaced values driving tech to keep you from "polluting" yet the efforts for most the other real world issues (like DUI, Driving without a valid license, etc) are stuck in the 50s.

Wow:Wow1: what a sweet looking rig Mikekey!

Wow that's a great setup! As much as I love my 2012 Power Wagon, I keep thinking about upgrading to a Laramie with the Ram Box down the road. Maybe around 2019 after they've had a year and done a body style change I can do an upgrade. Heck, if I wait until 2020 it would make a great 40th birthday gift to myself. By then my 2012 will be getting close to 70,000 miles and might still be worth something in trade or if I sell it.

Thanks, we've been enjoying the truck. I feel it was the best all around rig for us and our wants. Think it's time for a build thread. Already done exhuast, bed cover, intake and placed my order for White Knuckle Rock Sliders. Working on building a onboard air setup this week.

Heck we've even already used the winch twice in only a month of ownership helping friends get unstuck.

Here is my new ride. I picked this up in Oregon over Christmas. Its a 2007 CTD 5.9L, auto. It belonged to a retired couple who only put 46k on the odometer. So far the only mods are the steering brace, Hummer H2 wheels, Toyo AT Extremes, and a Yeasu 8800R with a Larson 2/70.

Oh, and the 2011 Four Wheel Hawk camper:coffeedrink:

Hey murphy744, out of curiosity what steering brace did you go with? That thing looks like it'll boogie nicely offroad, and wondering what you decided on for frame flex etc
